I owned a white keirin frame for about 3 weeks. Man did it show the dirt! I figured people would pay more cash for sparkly colored frame jobs in Japan over a white one...

White is the colour of the Japanese racing teams. Red for Italy, BRG for GB, etc.

Not as much as you would think. $250 tops in some cases.

I personally like polished nickle, and skip the chrome overcoat.

Serendipper 12-21-07 02:15 AM

BTW, you really did miss out big time on my trade offer. That Guerciotti is serious, lol. I was only delirious for a moment.

Think I'm just going to build up a Cinelli frame next and move my NOS Gipemme grouppo over so the Guerc can rest.

She's MINT...I mean museum quality...mint condition. Don't kid yourself about the brake hole.;) I'll be holding on to it for a loooong time.

Nice Nag, still...all things considered.

deathhare 12-21-07 02:19 AM

No worries here.
I'm not sure id feel happy riding an Italian frame.

 okaaaaay

deathhare 12-21-07 02:22 AM

i mean id have all japanese parts on it anyway. just seems pointless somehow.

akaio 12-21-07 02:27 AM

Yeah if yo mix that italian frame with japanese components. BOOM. Before you know it the whole thing could explode. Youre much safer this way.

*cough*

So Serendipper. Youre trying to sell a Guerciotti? ;) What size?

incorrect

TehK 12-21-07 03:31 AM

I met a guy who had his frame plated at an auto parts plater. It was "brushed nickel" and it looked very cool.

zzoundss 12-25-07 07:44 PM

Built up (almost) from Christmas presents, lots of saving, and lots of waiting. All she needs is a new chain and a lockring and will be good to go.

Any know what kind of threading Suntour Superbe hubs have?

auk 12-26-07 10:48 AM

Standard BSA threading. Just like 90% of the hubs out there.

nateintokyo 12-26-07 07:17 PM

this might be kinda neat.

Gran Compe's bid for NJS approval. 'angular bearings', not available yet.....

deathhare 12-26-07 07:50 PM

Yeah i saw those...exciting. I hope they get in.

Theyre gonna sell like mad if they do.

bonechilling 12-26-07 07:59 PM

It seems like a good idea. I mean, Dura Ace is the only current manufacturer of NJS hubs, right? Sounds like an un-tapped market, especially with NJS fetishism at near-fever pitch.

deathhare 12-26-07 08:03 PM

Oldsprinter brought us this pic of em back in November.
Been waiting to hear more.
If theyre smart those blue stickers will come in 9 different color choices.
