You guys know it's time for a full revival, so...post your latest tasty Keirin finds for the otaku in you!

chimblysweep 11-14-05 12:51 PM

i'm only posting this to keep photos coming... really. i'm not obsessed with her. nope, not at all.

i do have a 3rensho update... she has a name!
okashi
(i may have spelled that wrong-- help?)
she also has a bling gold chain. she was all smack talking with spoke cards this weekend, but i've cleaned her up since then (spoke cards are sort of insulting to this bike).

I was saving this link for Christmas, but since y'all have been good little girls and boys....

One of the coolest friggen' websites on the planet! :D

I can't keep it to myself any longer, my kharma bank is full...enjoy! :p

P.S. here's a taste of her lacy undergarments...

If I owned a digital camera I would have shown you pictures of my vintage white w/ red details Kalavinka frame which is on my kitchen table at the moment. I'm filling up minor paint scratches since that's the only thing I can do while I'm waiting for my parts from House of track;
Nitto stem w B123 drops
Sugino 75 cranks
ProMax NJS hubs
red ODI Ruffian grips
DA cog & lockring... and so on.

I'll try to take pictures of the build up if I can borrow a digital camera later. Keep your eyes open for further announcements.

freddiesan 11-14-05 05:35 PM

Here's my frame by the way. A little history of it and how the previous owner used to have it built up.

The mexico68 is perhaps the most beautiful bike I've ever seen.

A late comer to the show, but an addition that's name does not describe its abilities.

Anchor frame/fork (NJS stmaped)
3TTT Pista bars
3TTT Pro Chrome stem
Double fixed hubs with Dura Ace lockes laced to Fusion rims, DT spokes, DT red nips, built by me.[edit] (The gold wire in the back wheel is the tie stage of the tie and solder.)
Tubular wheels-to be shown at a later date and at the track.
Suntour Superbe cranks w/FSA track ring

Those that know who you are, thank you. Words do not describe.

Thanks Naz,

It almost ended up in the hands of the DCC's drunken crow. ;)

Just a sign. It reminded me of this thread so I took a picture

What's Kyoto like this time of year, Steve? Any racing going on? Or just winter training?

Sorry nothing much to report.
Whilst I haven't been out to any tracks for some time, the sign above was advertising racing during November.
My road training partner-in-crime (he's one of the fixie dudes around here) hasn't been on the bike for some months as he's riding the two legged variety instead right now. I did a training ride with him last Friday and I asked him about the track, and he's looking into our next Keirin day.
Unfortunately I'm off to OZ in two weeks for a month, so I'll be missing out for some time.
Steve.

Bump. NJS love. Show your new whips.

W-Base is killing everything right now....

mezza 12-05-06 05:25 PM

This is the coolest thread ever. I WANNA RACE KIEREN!!!!! :)

sers 12-05-06 05:34 PM

If your bike looks as good as your avatar....

You had better take some good pics, and post them! Check your PM's.

Can somebody post the link to some blog post where a bunch of keirin crashes on youtube are featured? I cannot for the life of me find it.

Fugazi Dave 12-05-06 07:32 PM

onetwentyeight - you rock

Also, as requested (not an NJS-pimped build in the least, but at very least it has some B123s on it right now)

**** I love this bike.

Serendipper 12-05-06 07:47 PM

That's what I'm talkin' about...look at those bullet-shaped round seatstays, people!

Adam, you still ride 3Rensho?

[edit] It's not about full NJS (but that's good too--real good and tasty)

It's about great steel track frames with awesome details that were built to be ridden hard.

onetwentyeight 12-05-06 08:38 PM

serendipper - nope. i sold it to pay bills. it was too small anyway, i could never dial in the fit. I am currently riding a Rossin, but am trading it for a carlton track frame from the 60s. The stan miles is currently being repainted. pretty soon the only njs stuff I will have will be my toe clips. heh.

here are two pics of my old rensho, for old times sake...

128 - out of curiousity, what did you ride when you lived in provi?

Here's a pic of my 'Vinka.. not completely Keirin, but honorable mention? ;)

onetwentyeight 12-05-06 10:18 PM
