What an utterly horrible, waiting to fail design. Common sense would tell you that there is quite a bit of stress on the welds. If that outer most tube that has all of the internal welds gets damaged, especially dented, he had better be prepared for that frame to fail catastrophically. He will either do a face plant or go the other way, so I hope he isn't riding that thing around too much!

People who do lots of crank do all kinds of interesting projects. I once met a toothless individual from Tunnel Hill, Georgia who had invented a rifle that fired railroad spikes. (For real, he demonstrated it for me.) This also just happened to be the first day I'd ever done acid. Good times.
