Are we just hipsters in denial?
Consistent with the known law of "Whoever smelt it dealt it," as well as its successor, "Whoever denied it supplied it," one can but wonder if we are the murderer whom we seek; if we are truly hipsters not yet come to terms with our true place in the world. Fast we are to point the finger at "Joe Hipster" but quickly we are to run from the image of our own countenance. We must know that we know that we know that we know whether we are those whom we persecute.
I am a hipster.

Who put the benzidrine in Mrs Murphy's ovaltine?
I think im too nerdy/geeky to be a hipster and I don't dress fancy enough, nor is my hair feathered/layered. I don't go to see enough bands, and I don't really get liking things ironically. I like things cuz I like things. I'm more of an artfag, really. Heh. I got into fixedgears because my 24 speed was stolen and I moved to a place where things were no longer walking distance (from Providence to San Francisco). I needed a new bike. My friend helped me convert an old schwinn frame that lived multiple lives as a singlespeed, a coasterbreak bike, and a fixed gear. I realized I liked riding fixed the most so then I spent the next few months building up a nice one. The end.
*does little dance*
edit: i do have some tight jeans but they were a joke present from a good friend. I don't have the matching white belt and don't wear them too often but they're deceptively comfortable.
Then again I went to art school so I guess that makes me a total hipster anyway.

(i have no hipster cred, the only thing that comes close is that i used to be a dj too, but a very un-hip one; i was all about the house).

usually someone else will determine if you're a hipster or not. you really need an outsiders point of view. it's like a guy with a bald spot who keeps telling himself that his comb over is working, but everyone else can see right through it.

On campus, I've seen one this dude plenty 'o' times. That beanie hat with a rim, gauged years, both pant legs rolled up just a wee, messenger bag, asics, track jacket.... he is not however, ever anywhere near a bike. I always see him walking - everywhere. And it confuses me. Silly hipster...stop giving me a headache.
I'd have to say I fit into the category of indie artfag if anything.
Or... hot chick on bike. Which... is really a special category anyway. haha.
