Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I just finished Allende's Of Love and Shadows for class.... Ughhhh... I did read Siddhartha before that though, which was nice and basically pushed me over the edge into becoming an vagitarianz.

Finished Hemingway's "Over The River And Into The Trees" recently. Eh...

Currently reading "The Jungle" by Sinclair. Not as gross as I anticipated, but it's god-damned depressing.

Re-starting Natsume Soseki's Kokoro after an absence of a few months. Good so far, I'm glad to pick it up again.

Thx for the suggestion. I've got the attention span of a 5 yr old when it comes to reading books. So far it's a great read.

Bikes: so many

I'm about halfway through Demon by John Varley, the third book in the Titan trillogy. It's a pretty damn good series if you like sci-fi.

I just started Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer (who wrote Into Thin Air). It is a juxtaposition of two stories: the formation and evolution of the LDS or Mormon church, and a modern-day double murder committed by fundamentalist Mormons

Quarter Life Crisis

I think it's a must read for anyone that has graduated college during the last 5 years or so.

Heh, yep. I was born and raised Mormon, went on a mission, married a Mormon girl in the temple and am still happily married to her. I no longer consider myself Mormon, but my wife goes to church every week and so do my parents, siblings, grandparents, in-laws and many of my friends... It's interesting to say the least.

Ditto. It kind of drags on and on.

If you liked Into Thin Air, check out Krakauer's Into the Wild. It's about a totally unprepared college student who just wandered off into the wilds of Alaska. It's a pretty insane story.

If you're into mountaineering literature, check out On the Ridge Between Life and Death: A Climbing Life Reexamined by David Roberts.

CONAN!

Great book. Classic sword & sorcery. The great thing about Conan is that he's not a heroic shining light. He's a rough character, with honest, selfish intentions. His main concerns are gold, women and battle. A true anti-hero! I love it.

About to start Stephen King's Gunslinger series. Read a bit of it ages ago and have been meaning to re-read for a long time.

^ Never read anything other than F451, I'll have to find some more.

I'm still reading A Confederacy Of Dunces.....I have to admit, I'm not in love with it.
