Duplicate post gets duplicate response.

IRO.
Anything from IRO over ebay stuff.
Seriously, this shouldn't be a debate.

Bikes: yes

windsor hour, khs flite 100, entry level fuji track... all those roughly 300-400 dollar bikes are pretty similar to each other. they're very entry level, with components that are less than desireable.

IRO, on the other hand, is an entry level bike that comes with high value components. its basic wheelset is solid, well loved, quite desireable while being affordable. the kind of components that you don't need to replace as soon as you realize that you really like riding fixed and deserve quality gear.

Bikes: Old-ass gearie hardtail MTB, fix-converted Centurion LeMans commuter, SS hardtail monster MTB

How are these two even comparable? If any IRO would be compared to the valu-pak track bikes it would be the Mark V. The Jamie Roy is an Aluminum CX-style bike with room for fatties and fenders. The Windsor is a steel track bike. Totally different geometries and materials. Pick which will actually work for what you want.

I'm not even going to get into the difference in components.

Seriously, this question is like asking "I'm going to try downhill racing. Should I get a downhill bike, or this sweet BMX?"

Bikes: Ebay Bikes... =)

If you decide to get the cheepy ebay bike, don't get the windsor...

Get the Mercier Kilo TT. Looks better, its lighter, and doesn't have all the ugly braze-ons or those big overweight track-ends...

=)

all what ugly braze-ons and and what overweight trackends? the ends don't look anymore "overweight" than the mercier and it doesn't sound like the person who created the thread is looking for a track bike so those "ugly braze-ons (water bottle mounts)" seem like it could be something that they would want. i'm just saying you can't compare apple's to apple's and pretend one is far superior. both of these bikes are at the same level of value and quality.
