Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Just seems wrong

not to discriminate, but cripes, i know i'd have very little to talk about with a comparatively rich 45-year old dude on a 5000 dollar 27-speed bike.

I read your correction, but you'd be surprised how many upper middle class suburban white people aren't robots or corporate lawyers and are actually nice people just like you or I with plenty of interesting things to say to all different types of people. Just because you can't talk to them about dick piercings and throwing U-locks at taxis doesn't make it a bad conversation! People who went through med school and law school tend to be quite intelligent as well, sometimes even more intelligent than PBR swilling 20-somethings who frequently smash their heads when they get hit by cars. Plus all this silliness aside, its a race, so get racing boy!
