Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? PDX Fixie in SF-looking for guide and...

OK, I got referred to this site from CL and this was my original posting.

"This seems like the appropriate spot for this, and technically it is a sale- that's right you'll get a dollar.

OK, first real vacation in about 3 years and I am no tourist. I grew up in a tourist town, so I'm not into the industry. I recently got back to fixed although by back, I s'pose it's more a newbie status, my earlier status was more involuntary (loaner from anotherr messenger). I've got basic skills and brakeless. I'm interested to see how the streets of SF treat me. Anyhow, I'm down for a week and would like to ride around, maybe get some insight but above all else pretty much have a spring break centered around my life of bicycle culture. My trade for this besides my awesome hillarity and extensive cruiser bike knowledge will be a pound (hell I'll make it a kilo for reference's sake), of Stumptown grade a crack cocaine quality coffee beans. I don't care who you are as long as you're chill and know the city."

stumptown kicks ass. when you get back, a couple of us are talking about doing some sort of bar ride or alleycat (i have a couple of ideas for an april fool's one). you should drop me or someone a line.

doesn't answer your question or needs. but....um...yep.

it's funny how this forum supposedly has no derailers. it seems like that's almost all we have.

Aww damn! just like that, and I thought this was more of a shot in the dark (er...dork). fancy seein' you here dolface, thanks for the heads up. First reponse was frommy own backyard. I go lookin for flyers, covered wagon style, when I shoulda been online. Magic. So anyone lookin to help the lost find their way? My bro's gotta work weekdays, I'm just gonna wander into traffic. I went to Atlanta in the fall, wandered around for a day or so until I got an idea for where to go and what to do just in time to leave. Not gonna do that again.

3/24-4/2 forgot to include that part huh, I'm carsharing down with down with a full load of strangers that friday to see a show at the Filmore (Metric). I might be out on the first or earlier, I'll see how much money I have left by then.

no no no, "some" is obvious and the "thin" should be, but as a much older man than I, you may not know. I slice is thin and what else could be considered a slice or even a hatchet wound...

aw man, the hyphy movement has been steadily creeping out of the cuts for like a year. the world is just now hearing about it though -- not to worry about being clueless, it just busted out for the most part.

i am just glad that hip hop has sunk to the level of depravity that it has finally slumped into. no need to mask it with super duper "intellectual space rhymes" at least they is callin it like they be seein it... "get dumb!" hey kids! aspire to this: "get ********!" and for the girls? "grind the pole upside down" or somethin.

thank god for punk rock.

if you are goin to generalize hip-hop, than I will generalize punk and say that punk has sucked since 81. And all this No Wave revival is garbage.
