Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? i know the government has grants for those of meager cognitive abilitites. perhaps you should look into that. you could get some money to spend on all the chop 'n' flops your heart desires.

Sorry, you're really just not worth the bother of comming up with a good joke. I didn't realize the internet was like the fight in the princess bride between the hero and the little guy who controlled andre the giant and inego montoya (or whatever his name is). Irony died back when people started caring again and stopped doing cocaine.

Do you want me to drop a big load of balloons on you so you can feel all special like you won a game show?

And while im at it, sorry I've got a pedestrian sense of humor, I know intellectual posturing is all the rage these days so I guess I'll just come out and say it. My art school was WAY better than yours.

RYAN INGERSOL, you too often shout and say the interesting little to intend even less to raise your voice more! Because a troll and, do we have are lower to you to say, primitive? I think that you are not worthy to the same the fresh poo in my trousers, perfectly in round as always! Perhaps you can regale yourselves on an old man, dryness to the top of prune of a poo of my trousers, and not perfectly around either!

i'm pretty sure that irony's first recorded use (at least that we know of) was by socrates. it is a method by which to learn and develop thinking, as well as exchange ideas. it's by no coincidence that he, his immediate followers, and essentially every important thinker ever have incorporated it to one degree or another into their writing. of course i am one of them, and this illustrates that it is not 'dead' as you've so confidently proclaimed it to be.

my guess is that when you think of irony you think of trucker hats, handlebar moustaches, ridiculous eighties hair, etc. i agree wholeheartedly with you that it is by no means cool to live one's life as a caricature of things one finds to be lame, and i fear you may have associated me with people of that type because of how the way i look impresses your senses, or something else rather superficial. but it's not so much a matter of debate that irony in theory can be done with fecundity, but in practice tends to fail, not unlike your reasoning and powers of deduction.

Ryan Ingersoll is obviously somebody's doppelganger. Someone who's built up a solid reputation around BFFGSS for good advice and even-handedness, but has been longing to say all the jackassy things rattling around in their head. Ryan Ingersoll is dolface's way of screaming his head off with all the inanities he thinks but never says.

Well if you wanna get technical, socratic irony was a graceful form of communication, and a simple way for discussing and debating dobgma without being unbalanced or compromising. It was thought to be mostly used for debates of philisophical skepticism.

OMG BEST THREAD EVAR, now.... Thats some trucker hat ****.

Yea I went to college, too.

Sophocles lived over a hundred years before socrates. The story of Oedipus is pretty textbook irony. Just saying.

1) Too see how far you'll go to make a mockery of yourself and a vague hope you might realize you aren't better than anyone else and posturing is a waste of everyones time.
2) Because dealing antiques isn't exactly the most high paced of jobs I've ever had and it fills the time.

I do realize you're just doing this because you're bored.

I kinda miss when people just talked about bikes.

edit: And a question for you - What compells you to bother strangers?

Why don't you take this test and let us know the results.

I am with 128, when can we talk about bikes again? I am tired of opening every thread to see flamboyant use of the English language just to try to insult someone. Grow up.
