I LOVE people in SF. Best city in the world (IMO). I don't expect anything from anyone. I don't give a fu(k if you ride fixed, ss, road, MTB, BMX, or WHATEVER. If you ride... you're a friend of mine. If you act like a tool, I'll show you the kind of power a lifetime of cycling and produce. Funny thing is, all the cool, open, friendly cats I know, are hella fast.

not what I meant. Often people feel insecure about what they are doing and read into things too much which results in them believing everyone hates them or gives them attitude. On the other hand the same people attract attitude because they give off that insecure vibe. You'll notice this yourself when you visit another country in the beginning you will get vibed, harassed, etc but after a week or so this usually stops, because you get the hang of things which makes you more confident.

I start everyone at negative 5 and have them work their way up.

I am seriously tempted to check out the post histories of everyone involved in this big ol' communal circle jerk of a thread and see how many of you rag on people's builds in the photo thread.

Love what? Love the fact that you can spread negativity, insecurity, I don't understand that.

It means that 128 is not quite as serious as other members and enjoys the good smack talking every once in a while whitout meaning to really offend, but rather amuse. Some people actually think it is quite entertaining to talk sh*t and trying to one-up the other in it.

Paslay, loosen up, relax, have a drink, no one is out to get you. You should come ride with us. I promise you'll have good time or twice your money back.

yep yep. i mean, this may be san francisco but we beat up all the hippies back in the 70s and once the doc com bubble burst and the ravers ran out of ecstacy, being bitter and sarcastic became san francisco's new black (besides black itself)! lets stomp on some daisies and grow thicker skin. What do you care what other people think?

now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to making tubes out of kitten intestines.

Sounds good to me! I'm down for group rides, would love to, I'll introduce myself as the "whiner", he he. I'm with 128 all the way about the hippies, "the new black" whoa, easy killer...

I started reading this and I have a list of things to say:

What kind of bike was the person on? Was it super nice and well riden or just brand new and they just rode it down the street?

Do you ride your bike a lot?

If their bike was a brand new bike that they will never ride and you ride your bike a lot please inform me so I can go punch some hipster.

I think there needs to be a campaign for hipsters on single speeds with only 1 brake. This gets me more than the whole fixed gear brake/no brake thing. I want to tell hipsters that have freewheels to go brakeless. On a good day I will see 5 ss with 1 brake. It just gets me because I know they don't ride far, because if they did they would die on the hills. Some hills I can barely stop with my front brake and a lot of back pressure/skipping.

San Francisco is not beautiful. It is a ****ty dirty city. I try and stay away, but I work there.

San Franciscans are not the nicest people. Most car drivers suck. Most drivers suck. A lot of bikers suck. And a lot and a lot of pedestrians are just plain dumb.

I'm a fellow SF chrome pista rider with an alternate view...

I could care less what people think of me or say to me, but I still hate being a bianchi ad!!

I bought the bike in a moment of pure joy because it was the first time I had ever ridden fixed and fell in love with it immediately. It was the quickest way I could get to riding. It is a great bike and I've already had lots of fun on it, but I'd feel a lot better if I weren't riding around on a giant bianchi billboard.

Oddly enough I saw a messenger today riding a chrome pista. He didn't seem to care.

And there is always Jasco.

Really? It's half of what it's all about for you? How long have you been in sports for shadenfrueder?

I give you three months 'til your craigslist ad debut.

i don't like talking **** on most peoples bikes, except the people who are bike walkers... and have show bikes. $3000 bike that is "too nice" to ride.

i wonder if tall bike riders laugh at other tall bike riders when one is higher than the other... "you are only 10 feet high, im like 10'1"!"

O RLY?

FYI, I was making a point. I wasn't saying it was "half of what it's all about" for me, I was saying it's "half of what it's all about" for the ******bags that make up a large part of the userbase of this Internet forum. Just because your bike is better-- or you've been "In It" longer-- doesn't give you any right to attack someone for buying a decent starter bike, or being a little awkward as they are learning. As for assuming that my bike will be on craigslist in three months, way to go. That's the kind of **** that simply strengthens an opinion of dislike for the average bf user. I mean, it's really awesome to judge people without knowing anything about them... After misinterpreting their statements, no less.

Don't get me wrong, I love it here... But you can't deny that people are completely stuck up their own asses when shielded by the Internet.

but then you have the people that dont like it when people ride $3K + bikes on the street, especially if they havent been riding as long as they have. when did so many people stop having fun and become so critical?
