I dont have access to jack **** anymore :(

I miss printing.

alaska 06-22-06 01:08 PM

printing is about a 250watt bulb and a couple of old door hinges. my **** is nowhere as nice and thought out as yours, 128, but if you really love to print you can do it with whatever.

made three hundred of these in my garage.

onetwentyeight 06-22-06 01:10 PM

my current problem is lack of space and money really. Ive been doing a little wood block printing in my room but nothing anyone gets to see :)

alaska 06-22-06 01:16 PM

nice. if it's like your other stuff you should probably show those to me.

onetwentyeight 06-22-06 01:19 PM

no :)

im still working on printing technique. i am printing the traditional japanese way and its harder than the european.

i don't have room to build up my own exposure table, and i doubt my roommates would want the shower to double as a sink for washing the photo emulsion...

isn't there some kind of screenprinting facilities for artists, maybe with a monthly fee or something? i just graduated and lack of a 24-hour fully-stocked school studio sucks...

It is against the policies. No solicitation, dammit! Unless of course you have a red star and you are in the Marketplace forums.

in philly you can go to space 1026 for that. in NYC you can go to the center for book arts or ABC NO RIO.

skelly 06-22-06 02:19 PM

i have printed at 1026 a bunch and unless things have changed, you can't just walk in and use ****. however, non menbers (like myself) can use the facilities from time to time.

i'll post some later...

i've never been, but have heard of some place in the mission. i think it was called the mission cultural center or something. Also, Lobot used to open their print studio to folks sometimes, not sure if they do or don't anymore or what the details are. I had 24 hour access to a pretty awesome print studio when I lived in Oakland so i never really looked into it.

in SF, you might also be able to work something out with workhorse to use their stuff.

skelly 06-23-06 07:08 AM

I was considering moving to Melbourne just because of the street art scene... I still am. haha. that place is incredible.

MLP, that sucks! I had 3 things lost in the mail right before I mailed my canvases to Sydney. I was pretty much expecting them to end up in the middle of the Pacific somewhere.
