those wheels are super hot. i REALLY wanted a hot pink bike, but, alas, had to settle for the really really nice brownish/gold bike i got for free...color scheme is not so exciting, but it makes me feel so grown up...however, i put a gold chain on it, which in retrospect looks really dorky, thereby negating any class-factor that the frame itself carried...

I can't find a pic, but I've seen a nice harlequin wrap w/reddish orange cloth bar tape and 1" fabric scotchlite (non-adhesive I think) that turned out really wicked like, maybe it was 2 rolls cloth tape and 1 roll scitchlite. If you've seen a good harlequin wrap you know what I mean, then imagine one colour in scotchlite, looks good but it's harder than just tape, probaly not as durable.

I love cloth tape. I'm not a fan of the thick regular bar tape and I like the girth of drops as they are (though when I was rolling with bullhorns, I hated the thin feel -- and would use cork tape for that) with that slender feel.

I have my bars typically wrapped up two ways: cork tape in the drops and when they start to curve, cloth tape up until the flats, flat. OR grips in the drops and cloth tape up till the flats.

As for gloves: in the summer, it's usually barehanded. If I'm doing a training ride, it's minimally padded Northwave Skeleton gloves or FOX Incline full-fingered, also with no padding.

Though, I've been re-considering the no padding for the 40+ mile rides and have been looking at options.

I have cloth tape and I love it. I found it at my LBS. I suck at wrapping bars though.

And does anyone think it is odd that I go through 3 pairs of gloves every 2 months? I can't figure it out. They just shred. I've been wearing SixSixOne gloves, the lite Izumis (half-finger) and this other kind that I forgot the name. Why can't mine just stay together?

I'm planning to wrap some cloth over foam as well. Is this what you did, Bob? I hope the shellac doesn't harm the foam tape underneath. I guess I'll try it out on some old tape I've still got. I've been riding around with motorcycle gloves for the past three years, carbon/ plastic knuckles and all. I don't recommend the Joe Rocket Super Motos. While they do have gel padding, the material sewn over it has the consistency of cotton gauze and was easily torn up the first day I got them. Full finger length for me, and this is riding around Houston,tx, so you can only imagine how nice they smell after a few month.

Check out this new product. Right now it's only sold on-line. It's a great new spin cotton grip tape.
