No sweat folks... that's why I'm here. I admit that sometimes it takes me a long time to get back to all the comments here, just because I'm a one man show. Still, I try to be here as often as I can.
I'd love to do a super sweet complete bike with Miche parts or something like that, but I'd only sell about 10-20 of them in a year. I have a dream to do a 60's era Masi Special track frame- complete with original style lugs. It'd be sweet, sort of like the 3V reproduction we did this year, but it'd be a bit more expensive.
I'd even love to do a Nagasawa/ 3 Rensho styled steel Keirin frame. But... 1 or 2 of you folks and me would be the only ones who'd ever buy one.
Thanks for the support.

It's a fine line to walk; if I go too retro with the graphics, only us dwindling group of retro grouches will appreciate the look of the bikes and if I go too modern I alienate the folks who salivate over the older bikes. What we've tried to do is blend the two as harmoniously as possible. That's why the steel stuff has a panel graphic and the newer race bikes have a more modern look. If it were solely up to my own bias, every bike would have a panel graphic... but not everybody wants that- especially on a modern carbon bike, for example. It's a tough juggle. Still, keep your eyes peeled for some possible surprises over the course of the next year or two; you never know what might happen around here.

Just make the damn frames, buy em' back and flip 'em. The board of directors would hail you as genius.

I will confidently stack my bikes up against any other bike on the market. I can honestly say that if you give them a ride, you just might like the bike. Maybe not. I can't pretend that I can make everybody like them, but I can honestly say that they ride as well as any bike out there. Outisde of personal preference for one kind of ride over another, our bikes are as good as any other brand out there. After doing this for 25 years, I can sincerely say that these bikes are as good as any other- regardless of cost or geography.

Here's my message:
- you've shown respect for the brand
- the bike is hella smooth
- I hope you sell 40 ft of them a week
- thank goodness people like you still want to work in this business
Now show me the new CX bike again, I didn't get a chance to get back for a look

Ok, the CXR will be a frameset and complete bike; bike will be around $1640 and the frame around $720 with fork and headset.
Let the slobbering commence...

Mr Jackson, it's refreshing to hear thoughtful comments coming from someone who obviously knows their s***. I think you are right in line with your new designs, and I too hope you sell a million, billion of them.

Argh... why am I so incapable of posting pictures here? Am I really that stupid? (Please nobody answer that.)
I'll try to figure this out and keep trying... if nothing else just go to my blog and search for CXR. The picture should come up. Maybe not- I'm totally inept technically.
Anyway, thanks for the support folks. I keep telling people all the time that I feel like one of the luckiest jerks in this silly business. I absolutely love my job and the brand that I get to be in trouble for. I promise you nobody loves Masi as much as I do. Just ask my wife, she'll tell you how damned annoying I am. I can't get more than a few minutes without talking about the bikes. It's actually kind of sad I guess.

I would ride around and promote the hell out of Masi, and your marriage would be saved. Win-win.

Ok, backtracking a bit here, were most of the negative comments on here in reference to the orange Masi at the top of this topic or the red aluminum one that someone compared to a Leader frame? Those are two completely different looking bikes and I was not sure which one masiguy was defending.
I would also like to echo the sentiments expressed by some, having someone like masiguy on here is very cool and very much appreciated.

This link has a bigger picture of the bike. It rocks. You'll love it. I promise... for what that's worth.
Thanks again for the support (those of you supporting...)
To clarify for acevengo, both bikes got a bit of criticism. Some didn't like the welds on the aluminum and others didn't like anything about the steel orange bike. To each their own. I think they rock, but you'd expect me to.
