it's still a pretty decent frame, i say. plus, what if you have 2 bikes missing front wheels, and one missing a fork, and a spare fork lying around that doesnt fit the other frame?:D

erm. I don't get it. Is that a joke?

sashae 04-06-07 08:15 AM

Auction is likely fraudulent, a few folks are over-bidding on it to keep it from selling to someone who doesn't know -- ebay has been contacted.

Those Herse modified Maxi-Cars are insanely rare, though, and i'm sure bidders from the US, Japan, and France are going berserk over them...

I'm almost scared to ask, but about 2 years ago I tossed some old wheels out that had Harden hubs (http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/harden.html). Have I thrown away my retirement money?

edit: just found this. Not too bad, but I would have kept them if I'd known: http://cgi.ebay.ie/HARDEN-LARGE-FLAN...QQcmdZViewItem

People have regularly paid $100 for a length of chain?

Also, how is it that this thing was happening before the internet? This is the eBay thread, and last I checked, the internet predates eBay. Anyway, I don't think that people actually DID get duped into buying fancy logoed chains before the internet, at least not like this. This whole "brand culture" is almost entirely a product of the internet.

i want this for the saddle

(I'll remove the penis from the seat if you want me to beforehand, but I think it probably acts as a theft deterrent, because who wants to jump on that and ride off?)

RE: the Watanabe.

Was there ever a Dura Ace EX track gruppo? I mean, I doubt it. But the sticker's on that frame.
