Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Lorenzo is the italian greyhound in the picture, and Lily is the retired racing greyhound. Lorenzo was not fixed when we received him at age three and did not take kindly to going fixed, (he kept looking back as if to say "EXCUSE ME, I CAME IN HERE WITH SOMETHING THAT I AM CURRENTLY MISSING!").

in fact he even has his own blog...

Here's Gus. He was born mid-August of last year and I can't get over how fast he's growing.

Asleep in October the day we adopted him:

At attention a month or so later:

Sleeping under the rug a couple weeks ago:

Cruisin' for a snoozin' on the radiator:

The cat is fixed, the bike is not. Both are approximately coffee brown. And both, despite their modest size, are mean sons of b's.

Potato: Originally named Paquito, but the little boy in the MEOW Foundation foster home couldn't pronounce Paquito so he called her Potato.

Molly: Named after the character in William Gibson's Neuromancer. When picked up, she only purrs for me...

I love seeing all your cool pets. Here's my contribution, my chihuahua, who rides with me. OK so this is my geared bike, but I am not quite ready to put a basket on my Rush Hour.
