After cutting my hand once the Dr. told me that stiches in the hand are rare.
Keep it clean and bandaged, you'll be fine.

i would think that hands are more common, considering how often they are moved and exposed to bateria??
btw, after referencing my first aid textbook, it says "if sutures are needed, they should be made by a physician within six to eight hours of the injury. suturing wounds allows faster healing, reduces infection, and lessens scarring. some wounds do not usually require stitches: wounds in which the skin's sut edges tend to fall together, and shallow cuts less than one inch long".

ps. i dig scars...

Dude... at least have it looked at. Like another poster said, it's too late to stitch. But a doctor can clean it better for you and give you some antiseptic.
I actually use cayenne pepper powder. It bites but the high content of vitamin C in it will help the capillaries heal and bring fresh blood to the area. I got a nasty cut last month and you can't even see the scar. Cayenne is a great disinfectant.
