It had a coaster brake rear hub on it (and all the other necessary parts, this is just the frame), thick ass tires. I just flipped the bars, switched grips, changed BB bearings, cleaned rust, changed the rack. And now it's my campus bike. It's a pos, but a free and awesome pos that makes me happy.

BTW, when this frame dies, the swallow headbadge goes on my next beater. It is just too awesome.

For those that are not Cyrillicly-inclined (and are interested), the label on the downtube is written in cursive, which is equivalent to "Украина" in block letters. This translates to what is apparently the bike's model name: Ukraine.

The head badge looks like it reads "XB3," however, the "3" is most likely not a number; it is a Cyrillic letter that is equivalent to the Roman letter "Z." I'm guessing that stands for "Харьков Велосипед Завод" which transliterates to "Kharkov Velocipyed Zavod" and translates to "Kharkov Bicycle Plant."

The one on ebay looks as though it says Record. But I am unsure what the last letter is. It looks like a д, but could be an O. If it is an O I have no idea what PEKOPO is.

Wow, that russian track bike looks ass ugly in the first photo and yet so beautiful in the second. It all makes sense when you see it in its natural habitat I guess.

Doesn't look like anything special, I'd probably just take the badge off and junk it.

If you can see that as cyrillic letters in your web browser you already have a cyrillic font on your system. To type it you need to turn on a Cyrillic keyboard layout. Not sure how it's done on a PC. On a Mac you do that via the International pane in System Preferences.
