Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

dutret just likes to fight. you'd be better off to just ignore him. sometimes it's entertaining to read but it's pretty lame how every conversation he starts turns into him calling someone a "******bag hipster" or some other version of follower. my theory is everyone around his real life got sick of this long ago so he found bikeforums to vent his extreme know-it-all-ness to the world.

seriously, all bike opinions and arguments aside, what is your problem dutret? were you not loved enough as a child?

yeah barspins are good times. **** all the elitist haters who for some idotic reason think track bikes are for distance riding lol. They make a completely different bike for that... they call them road bikes. Theyve got brakes, gears, more comfortable geometry and components, all that good stuff. So the next time you ****heads want to try the hardcore cycling arguement remind yourself that you are also using a track bike for something it is not designed for. You guys should have been around in the 70's to insult the guys that were racing custom cruisers down hillsides (the first mountain bikes). Maybe you could have hurt their feelings enough to not spawn a multi million dollar industry haha
