I was asking what the geometry on the soma was now. Do you even know or care or is geometry just something that should be tight or track cause it sounds good?

But your bike does not have the geometry listed on somafab.com. I don't feel like doing the math now but since you care so much about getting "tighter geometry" I figured you could tell me what it was. I guess I was wrong and you are just another ******bag hipster that likes to talk about "tighter geometry" but really doesn't know **** about riding a bike other then the two or three boring tricks he does ad nauseum.

good god.. okay. Reasons for upgrading to the rush from the bowery for me were simple. I got the bike even though it wasnt exactly right for me because it was cheap. I had issues with pedal strike on the giant. I never really got comfortable with it and by going with a track frame, I wouldnt have to worry about it unless I was really really leaning (higher bottom bracket). With the Rush my positioning and posture is better. The steeper head tube combined with the 650 front put me forward over the bike more. I have short legs so going with a 53 would be better for standover, but not for reach. So I went with the 55. Stand over was sort of an issue at this point, but the 650 also helped in that area. The steeper seat tube is another plus for getting better posture. In the bowery I felt like I was riding farther back and more upright. The fork was something that could have been adapted to either frame, but I went from a 44 to a 38 rake. My goal was to get the best of both worlds. I like to ride and I like to do tricks. There were a few options available, I went with the Rush.

650 wheel with a 700 fork (with appropriate stem angle and height). geometry hardly changes.

In other words you can't answer my simple question: what is the geometry of the soma? I was curious whether if you have pushed it outside the bounds of normal bikes or not. Next time instead writing a ridiculous rant to justify your choices just answer the ****ing question or say "I don't know".

It should change about half as much as the change with the fork would. I think when I calculated that it was 4-5 degrees or something. That is a huge difference. Half that is still pretty big... like between a slack roadbike an a moderately steep track one.

i'm pretty sure it's not that much. when i used to ride dh/fr bikes the rule of thumb was that an inch on or off the fork length equated to approximately a degree slacker or steeper at the ht.

we're talking a very small difference between a 650 and a 700 wheel on the same fork. i can't see that causing a 2-3° difference in angle. not even close

i've ridden my 74°/74° conventional track bike with a 650 front wheel and it certainly didn't suddenly turn into an unrideable monster.

If youre so interested, you do the math

55cm rush:
966mm wheelbase
74.3° headtube

Drop height from 700c to 650c:
[622 - 571]/2 = 25.5mm

Therefore the headtube angle delta is approx 1.5°, making the new headtube angle about 75.8°
Of course, this can be affected by tire size etc..
