I think Dutret is jealous that the hipsters have recognized Ken Cox as king.
jodypolk, i wonder how big the tires are assumed to be on that chart. My gi calc backs up Cox assuming 700*25 tires.

One tries to find a postitive side to life's twists and turns.
I find it very interesting that several other riders share my numerology thing, including seven and prime numbers.
I can't explain it in rational terms, which surprises me given the rational nature of numbers.
I think it has something to do with a subconscious aesthetic, like PHI, or 1.618, also known as the Golden Section.
Several folks came up with some interesting options.
I would like to stay with 3/32's because of the weight.

This bike has a silver crank star and a black chainring:

A silver on silver Colnago with Campy components that has nothing to do with this conversations, but GOSH:

And finally, the bike that got me thinking of a black Sugino star with a silver chainring:

My goodness, what a jewel.

If anyone has a link to a 43t or 47t ring in 3/32's and with a 130mm BCD, well, that would make it unnecessary to get a Sugino 75 crank in 144mm BCD.
I have in fact found several 43t 3/32's 130 BCD rings, but when I attempted to order them, the seller revealed he didn't actually have it in stock.
I've never seen a 47t 3/32's 130 BCD ring, but I remain open to that option.
I would prefer the 43t, though, as it would give me both a 66 gear inch and a 60 gear inch option.
Y'know, the thought that this treatment might make me very sick does not sit peacefully on my mind, but I can bear it.
However, the thought of not riding for six months hurts to even comtemplate.
I figure if I gear down enough, I can ride if I can just get on the critter.
Anyway, in the absence of any more photos, or links to 43t chainrings, I will probably go with the black Sugino 75's if I do the treatment.
I'll know which way this will go by the second week in April.

Ken,
Might be out of your price range, but have you contacted Boone Ti? There isn't anything listed for what you want but maybe he would do it.

I followed Plowboy's link:
https://www.booneti.com/cr/cr.html
Wow.
I didn't see anything there that would work for me, right now.
But I wonder, if enough of us contacted Brett Brown, would he consider making fixed gear chain rings?
Yes, I know his geared chain rings will work on a fixie, but it doesn't seem right.
Anyway, visit the site and look at the workmanship.
The price seems very fair for what one gets.

Bikes: Bates (of Coburg) track bike(60s/70s?), Malvern Star Ladies coronation (1953), SuperElliots pathracer (60s?), Repco pathracer (1964), Holland Ladies (50s?), Moa (50s?), Hillman Ladies (40s?), Batavia? (40s?), Malvern Star 2 star ladies (50s?)...etc.
According to the Deep Thought computer, the meaning of life is: 42.
Imagine having your prime number down the back, and the "meaning of life" upfront!! 42/17=66.7, and 42/19=59.7
You've still got the Biopace, still got 3/32".....
But yeah, if you want a new crank.....

A great number.
Six seven's.
And Harriscyclery has had one in the past.
I'll check.
Too simple, and no new crank.
Still.

BTW, any colored cranks will look good at first but the color will wear off from shoe rub. Classic silver is good looking and practical.
Now, if you just want to buy new cranks, that's cool, but the above chainrings will do what you need for the right price. Good luck and have a quick recovery.

In another thread, mander provided a link to an interesting gear calculator, perhaps my favorite.
https://software.bareknucklebrigade.c...it.applet.html
On the rabbit calculator, 42X17 equates exactly to 47X19, my prime numbers
That makes 42 a virtual prime number.
Thanks to riderx for the headsup on the black wearing off due to scuff.

Here are a few links from UK shops that show what you are looking for. If what you really want is a new crank then maybe you should get that - it sounds like you deserve to treat yourself.

I hope that the treatment isn't too harsh - I think your approach to life will stand you in good stead to overcome the worst aspects.

I just ordered the 42t biopace ring from Yellowjersey.
I also have an email in to Phil regarding the question of combining the Sugino 75 crank arms, which have a published ISO taper, with the JIS taper of my Phil crank bearing spindle.
We have a thread going on this forum now, regarding the Sugino taper.
I'll wait and see how that shakes out before making any crank purchases.
In the meantime, I can play with a lower gear inch and see how it feels.
If I can go 15mph at a comfortable spin, I can more than live with it.
