Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

2nd or 3rd hit....
"Culture. In Syria, clenching both hands in power grips, and raising them together over the midriff, with the thumbs positioned outward--as if stretching a rope--means, "I will strangle you" (Morris 1994:74)."

edit: i am 6' 155lbs or so
so wait, did you break the attachment piece or the strap itself? could there have been a chance you didn't install things correctly?

the strap pulled from the bracket attachment, and i followed the instructions precisely. I definitely wasn't strong enough that i should have been able to pull it free like that.

i really would tighten my single strap everytime i got on my bike. powergrips are awesome because you can adjust the tightness by just moving your foot around while riding. also, i had an issue with the mounting hardware and i called powergrips and had the replacement part in my mailbox 3 days later..for free.

for those of y'all looking for good, cheap straps, velo orange has mks singles for $38.

While on the subject, the roller popped out of my brand new (well ok, like 3 rides old) Cinelli laminated straps while I was tightening. pisssah! They look so damn hot, but avoid.

Bikes: surly Karate Monkey and Cross Check

Noob clip question. I have always ridden clipless on MTB and road and am currently using eggbeaters which I like. However I like using clips and straps on my fixed bike for the normal shoe factor. I currently have a single strap on a MKS pedal. Can I go with a double strap even though the cage on has space for the one strap?

Also are the Soma straps any good?

Which MKS pedal do you have?
I have the Sylvan track and am about to buy some double toshis. I can use them with this pedal correct?

I have the same pedals with single strap cages and was wondering the same thing.

Yeah, I had to use pliers to fit them through.
