to you last two guys stuck between the 57 and 60 - i'm 6'2 and ride the 60. it fits me well with a <100mm stem slammed down all the way. The 57 probably would be fine if you aren't doing too many distance rides where the larger saddle to bar drop would be annoying.

I want a Kilo TT too!

I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam. I'd rather have a bike that's a bit too small than a bit too large. Should I get the 57cm or the next one up?

i'm not seeing anymore 57(s) even listed :<

dddave 03-06-08 03:02 PM

i'm 6'5 with a 35/36" inseam and ride the 60.

guerillaidiom 03-06-08 03:24 PM

really now, i'm 6'1" with no joke, about a 35" inseam. I have real long legs, and long feet, I ride a 60, but I really like riding a 59 with the seat a tad higher, it just feels tighter and more agile.

****. I defended the last delay, but I don't know about this. I have all the other parts just sitting around begging for a frame, and I don't feel like waiting until May. I may have to take my business to Spicer.

if the kilos came in a 59 i probably would have bought it but the next size down is 57.

I'm new to this industry but if it's at all similar to others where distributors are importing from overseas these sorts of things happen quite often. Importing can be a very frustrating business. From the other communication I have seen from BD/BI they seem just as frustrated about this as their customers and are doing everything they can to get their stock in.

57 seems a tad bit too small

esohsee 03-07-08 01:46 AM

They're just sold out. I'm sure they'll have more in a few weeks.

mr_macgee 03-07-08 01:23 PM

All black frames sold out, more coming in June.

Overture 03-07-08 01:48 PM

After seeing that they sold out I decided to turn to craigslist and see what I could find frame wise with a "wanted" ad. I didn't expect much out of this (didn't specify what kind of a frame, just a track frame), but the third reply I got was a guy who lives about 10 minutes away looking to get rid of a 53 Mercier TT green frame, fork, truvativ cranks/bottom bracket, stem and drop bars for $90. He even offered to build it up for me with other used parts for $300 but said flat out that price would mainly be for his time and he recommended that I do it myself if I didn't know how for the learning experience and to save money.

I feel pretty lucky right now.

Looks like there's more up on bd.com. I just ordered a 57 in black. This thread is super helpful. I think it answered any and all questions I had before buying.

P.S. Does anyone remember what page has the list that was created of all the stock measurements (stem size, seat tube size, bar size, etc.) for the Kilo? Thanks.

hey sorry guys, I made a mistake on my previous post. My kilo is actually a 53cm (56 c-t), I got my bikes confused, maybe I have too many, if thats even possible. Still looking to get rid of it though.

what is this decal tape you speak so highly about. I just ordered my kilo and i"m already wondering if the frame decals are clearcoated on or can be removed but yours looks clean... tell me how

Here's a Kilo TT I just finished for a friend of mine. She designed the slashes and picked the colors. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2224/...fe0709a5_b.jpg

ahand 03-07-08 10:43 PM

I do it sort of as an aside to my normal, dead-end-boring-as-all-get-out job. (Turnaround times vary, depending on how much trouble I get myself into).I've gotten frames from NY before, so Boston certainly isn't out of the question.
Take a look here
There are 2 IRO's on there, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
Oh, and thanks for the 'holy hell' comment. I like that.

ahand 03-07-08 11:03 PM

haha yeah holy hell was totally positive, it looks really awesome.

bellpepperTT 03-07-08 11:25 PM

When is the next shipment of Kilo TT's supposed to ship from bikesdirect? I ordered a 50cm green and it's just listed as Low Stock while others say In Stock or ships in June.

JellyMeetsJam 03-08-08 12:03 AM

wow nice paintjob, what's the fork look like?
