Why's that? Are you going freewheel?

Yeah it probably is a little bit too big, I'm barely clearing the standover height, but my bike was still quite a steal so I went ahead with it anyway (got it from a good friend, not BD). I've yet to encounter any problems with the size though so as of now, I'm real happy with it.

No. With brakes, I can go faster without worrying as much, save my tires, and be able to react to ****ty drivers faster.

Good idea. I still have brakes on my SST. They really help with the hills and crappy drivers in my area.

i know its just semantics but its generally looked down upon when referring to your own bike as a steal. unless, of course, it is stolen.

Chrome TT
mmmmmmm, shiny
Just put it together last night. Now that it's not just a box of parts I think there are a few things I'm gonna change up, mostly just replacing the black components with silver. I plan on running a front brake but I got a few months to work that out 'cause I don't plan on riding it much until this crap Iowa winter passes.

55cm. 6'0/30-31ish inseam.
Looks good bro, I like your build. But for some reason the look of machined wheels really bothers me, especially on deep-V rims.

that would look really sick with a threaded fork and quill stem.

heh. Thanks guys.
i thought about getting a threaded fork but then that would mean whole new fork, headset, and stem and i just don't have the money right now.

The wood fender I ordered online thru Woodys Fenders. They have a lot of stuff to choose from.

Hey guys I have a question about the tektro R310 front brake which a lot of kilo owners have, so figured why not post it here instead of adding it to the recent surge of pointless threads. Are these calipers compatible with shimano holders? I was thinking of getting these but im not sure they will fit because the cheap stock pads that came with my calipers didnt have holders. Thanks a lot for he help.

dont know. But i did find this archive thread asking about them.
https://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-400277.html

I think the majority of ppl running tektros (myself incuded) was the it is one of the cheapest option available for a nice brake.

don't replace the black components! I like the little bit of black and brown thrown in there. If it's all silver it's all so chromed out. It's kinda like overkill. Just IMHO.
But definitely front brake
