****ing pecker head.
Megatron- Seriously dude, if you're having that many problems, having issues at all, why aren't you calling me or emailing me? If there's a problem- I wanna know... seriously. I don't run the warranty department, so I don't get to hear about all issues, but they are pretty good about filtering things to me and I haven't been getting a rash of complaints. Not saying you're a liar, just saying I'm uninformed of issues, if they exist.

I hope it's clear to folks here that I try darned hard to make sure we deliver products that are high quality, so I do get concerned when I read comments claiming that Masi is a bunch of ****** bags trying to rip people off... since I AM the company, that kinda strikes close to the bone.

What shop do you work for/ in? I'll happily call and try to find a way to resolve any issues you've had. I can't fix what I don't know is broken...

Only sometimes... the rest of the time it's connected to spam bots. At least that is the impression my inbox is getting.

Thanks for the laugh.

They are unbranded on eBay, sold by bikeisland or sprtymama, I believe. Search for "track" in Road Bikes and Frames, they come up as a frameset with a BIN of 150$USD or so.

It's a rough call. I like the orange of the Masi, but I do like the geometry and frame layout (?) of the Kilo TT (and yes, I am a Kilo TT owner).

Hey! I've got an idea! How about Masiguy sends me one of the Masis to review, and I'll do a full side-by-side review and comparison; I'll post all my results here, and we'd have a totally unbiased comparison.

Well, Masiguy? Whadda ya think?

Bikes: Masi Speciale Fixed, Surly 1x1, 2 70's Bianchi folders, Swingbike, Columbia Cruiser 3 spd, Specialized Big Hit and P.2, Cove G-Spot, Xtracycled Bianchi San Jose.

On the flip side, I love my Masi, but am thinking of picking up a mercier for the GF. If I do go that route I'll do the comparison.
Iamtim, wanna race?

I was bored so I searched for you This is what I found:

"20.8 pounds as you see it here. i added the bottle cage, the front brake, the selle italia gel saddle and a white industries eno freewheel cog to the flip/flop hub. the bullhorn bars with the brake lever are probably a push compared to the stock bars.
an educated guess would put this bike easily below 19 pounds stock."

Another owner placed it as a rough guess at 15 lbs stock, so somewhere from 15-19 lbs stock. Not a accurate measurement, but gives you a ballpark figure to go off of.

I declare that your comparison would be biased and flawed, because what guy would give his GF a better bike than he rides?

Thus, only I could provide a completely unbiased comparison.

Hear that, Masiguy?

...

(Note: I say this only because I can't afford to buy the Masi as well as the Mercier, and am pushing for the complimentary Masi I know I won't get, but even at that my chances are diminished if you're willing to actually buy a both bikes and compare them. Heh.)

Haha, I think I would be biased as well. I picked up my Masi used and it already had some dings in the frame. While I love it immensely I am always a sucker for shiny new things (my biggest vice) and would love another off the rack fixed to compare the Speciale to (the San Jose doesn't count for whatever reason)

Bikes: tirove

the san jose is more like a ss cross bike that's incredibly well suited to commuting. it's not as light as a track bike but it will stand up to a whole lot more, and you can put almost anything on it.

a san jose would probably compare very well to a specialized single speed 08 tricross.
