I am waiting on my wheels and tires to show up. UPS says Wednesday! Three weeks feels like a long time to wait for my wheels to be built.

dmotoguy - our bikes are going to be pretty similar all-black DV wheelset and brooks buddy. But then again that frame just kind of asks for a stealth bomber build.

I thought about it, but then my wife convince me I should get decent parts. I still haven't told her what I spent. I think she has a pretty good idea, after I told her that we don't have any savings after I paid for my grad classes and her undergraduate classes. She knew how much that was and things weren't adding up. She doesn't seem to be too happy.

looks awesome!

for some reason i don't like brooks, but that's probably just because i've never sat on one.

the whole stealth F/A 117 theme gets kinda broke by the war chariot saddle. but again, that's just me.

tangent, i saw that workstand today in performance for like thirty bucks. maybe when i have a house.

A Brooks with that much drop looks painful to the nads.

More nice builds!

My wheels are coming along nicely. The rear is complete and I just need to do a final tension & true on the front.

I am getting anxious; wheels are near! Once I have my wheelset (hopefully today or tomorrow) I am posting pics.

+1. A B17 with that kind of drop may not be all that comfortable.

Bikes: Trash... for serious.

I am amazed at the amount of money that people are putting into these bikes. I guess maybe its cause I have never ridden a $120 headset or a $50 chain that I dont get it. I just can't imagine riding at $50 chain and saying "man, this is totally 6 times better than my $8 PC-1."

I'm not trying to get people all excited, I think these bikes are awesome, I just still dont fully understand the amount of money people spend....

I decided to spend more, because of how long the parts will last. A Chris King headset and Phil Woods are essentially bomb proof. That is where a good portion of my money went. The Brooks B17 was only $80; my road saddle cost $50 more and is wearing out. I wanted a stick and strong crank set, that had a classic look to it, so I got the Sugino 75. A crank set for $200 isn't that much compared to a road crank set. Just one chain ring for my road crank set was over $80. I looked at it this way; I could get cheap parts and brake them, then replace them or spend a bit more money and not worry about it.

I will most certainly upgrade my frame, because I think the workmanship on this IRO frame was crap. The welds are junk, but I will ride it for a while until I finally decide on a new frame.

Oh yeah; bikes, my wife, and going out with my wife is what I spend my money on, not necessarily in that order. We all have priorities, choose what makes you happy.
