Ok so I am getting pretty tired of all the delays in my build...wait all this freaking time for the frame and the group and you would think I would have this bike together by now.
Currently my IRO is sitting at my LBS waiting for a headset...my Miche was messed up and the LBS wouldn't install it...to try and speed the process I had them order a FSA Orbit X to install but even it wont be in until later this week (thought King was overkill and the only other thing they had was a super cheap Aheadset). But even if I had the frame with the headset installed I still don't have my rims...they were supposed to come last week but they didn't show up.
I just want to ride my fixie...

Had my frame to the LBS this weekend to get prepped. The silver cane creek S6 looks great against the black. Speaking of paint, I noticed the paint on my frame seems to ship fairly easy. Anyone one have the same experience?

Oh, btw, for those who also play on velospace, I made a cluster for the BFSSFG IRO's. Join up @ https://velospace.org/viewcluster?c=124
I'll have pictures of my build up once I have a way to get them off my camera.

I tried clear coating mine and effed it all up--however, after applying generous amount of rubbing compund, the frame is now a litty glossy black with tiny sparkles---which, oddly enough matches the paint scheme on my car almost perfectly. So at least I can use the touch up paint from that to fix the chips

Well, I am definately going to get the award for last to finish. I am still waiting for my wheels (black anondized aeros) and need to get a seatpost and seat, extra washer for the brake, new stem, and bar tape.
But i couldn't resist seeing what this might look like, so here are some pics of the bike so far in various stages of undress.
Frame out of box:

Frame after I got too crazy with the clear coat

Frame after I tried to fix the paint job and had the BB and headset installed:

Am I the 1st to ride a century on a GB IRO?
A better photo, I took at a desert oasis during the IRO's maiden voyage(117.7miles).

Yup.
It was a route that I do once a month on my road bike(it's fairly easy), but it kicked my ass riding it fixed. Not being able to coast on the DHs (+ resting the tush) and having to use leg power to control my speed was brutal. My legs were shaking after the final 6.5 mile descent.

BoSox that bike looks great. Now where are my parts? I'm still waiting on a HS, rims for my wheel build and tires...bar tape as well but I will just pick that up at the LBS when I pick up my frame once they get the HS installed.
