yeah - nothing special. If you are looking for an inexpensive frame, there are more than enough options already here. Good ones, too!

What makes you think it was a phishing site?

A fat Latvian watching football would be quite something. Hockey is another matter......

Bikes: A big one

Yeah. I actually got enough balls to go and order one. Got the frameset in 2 days! The guy was super friendly although his english was rough and at times it was hard to communicate. The frames are nothing special - but still very nice for 180.00 shipped. The fork was undrilled and needed some cutting of the steer tube..I've received many compliments on my bike and for 180.00 you can't go wrong..I could take some pictures anyone wants to see...

I'd be interested in seeing some photos. I'm totally not in the market whatsoever, but I'm still curious.

I cut it my own kind of way actually..since it was a threaded fork, I used an old threaded nut as a guide to keep my saw straight and just used a metal cutting saw. I tried using a pipe-cutter but it just kept following the thread and wouldn't stay straight. So after cutting it I used the old fork nut to fix the first thread by just simply taking it off..if this makes sense..I'll post pictures later on..

Yeah pictures of the welds would be awesome. Just a lot of pictures. I'm considering pick up one of those frames.

I'm really interested to see pics too.

If it helps at all, the phone # listed on their "website"/ebay listing is a Greenville SC #. And it seems like you can contact the guy fairly easily, all be it with a bit of language barrier. (unless you speak Spanish)

I tried to get with a friend in G'ville, but didn't get anywhere with finding out about the seller...

It's lugged. Not welded.

Um, I hope you realize my post was in jest, a parody of the mistrust Americans have for anything foreign. It's pretty much the cold war mentality that has been hung on to, because it makes them feel warm about being American.

But yea, my hand is usually juggling down there juggling ma boys. And football is idiotic. Give me the real "football", but for the love of Christ don't give me MLS + Beckham. Ugh.

Hockey is another matter......
Yep, agreed, and it's a matter in which Canada owns everyone. The Canada-Russia series that's underway is turning out to be a huge embarassment for the Russkies. As a Latvian you must appreciate seeing them get humiliated too. Feel free to petition your sports ministry for a Canada-Latvia series if you want to have your asses handed to you next .

If anyone is between this frame and the Kilo TT, it's worth pointing out that Bikes Direct said that they're going to be offering the Kilo TT frameset alone with a variety of paint options soon. Something to consider.

Sorry for the big photos, my photoshop crashed and I couldn't resize them..my bike was taken apart since I'm leaving for Scotland on friday so I just quickly threw it together to get the idea how it looks built up..it's a 58cm frame. 56cm bottom bracket to top tube and 58cm top tube to head tube.

um, the nut on the rear track hub looks like it won't hold that well.

also, the bottom lug on the head tube has some small spots of paint missing. I'd cover that with a bit of clear nail polish or paint to keep it from rusting.

but yeah - looks like a $180 frame for sure.

yeah. nothing on that bike is actually bolted on..and the nut is never like that. I don't feel bad for buying it, I tend to beat up bikes pretty quick so $180 is just right for me..
