Be curious to see what the pricing on a carbon frame would be, as you mention it'd be cheaper than the $600 Ti.

dblock 11-16-07 02:41 PM

if you did carbon and titanium i'd probably buy both, but if you have to do one i still say do ti

About $400
if I can find a good open mold

But I think many would prefer 853 frame at $100 less

your thoughts?

I'd say $250 with carbon fork
maybe $300 - depending on fork and headset

ahand 11-16-07 05:48 PM

i'm in, if it has track ends and nice geometry ill bite.

BRANDUNE 11-16-07 05:54 PM

This is sounding awesome, and it amazes me how much Mikedirect puts into this

$300...for the windsor

jesus.... i dont think i could build a cheaper bike with all the shortcuts..

david3558 11-16-07 06:15 PM

Oh please make sizes for those riders stuck between the 53 and 57 range.

kmart 11-16-07 06:19 PM

So, when exactly can we expect the next batch of new frames to be on the market? Will it go public through the site/ebay or is there some kind of secret "BF group buy" club we have to join?

Hrmmmmmmmm, this is a really tough call. For me it will come down to geometry and simple aesthetics but a nice carbon frame could be a winner. Damn, maybe both ;)

doofo 11-16-07 06:51 PM

id be interested in a carbon frame if and only if decals could be easily removed

ie none to begin with or simple peel off

under clearcoat kills it

SingleSpeeDemon 11-16-07 07:01 PM

Bikesdirect,

Make a track bike out of that Keirin stuff. I hear it comes from Japan and is really fast. Just don't use Vivalo as it tends to dissolve at critical junctions.

That is an issue
in that it makes cost higher by not having decals

we never use decals unless under clear coat
decals without clear coat look cheap [I think]

New KILO TT frames should be in stock in January

I am trying to get upgraded KILO PRO frame in Platinum OX by late spring

working on an 853 track for summer

lead times on frames are only 90 to 120 days {many components have lead times of 6 to 7 months]

ohmygoodness, i've been waiting for the the kilo framesets forever, is it true they're coming in white?

kmart 11-16-07 11:11 PM

As awesome as a white Kilo frame would be, I think I will hold out for the Platinum OX version. Man, "late spring" (may) is a long time away....

Kol.klink 11-17-07 12:04 AM

I would be VERY interested in 300$
Aluminum Fuji track pro type job fork included
853 frame

Assuming Track geo/ends

Good Jesus. I love bikesdirect.

I promise this is the last time I post about a non-track frame on this thread.

And here I am looking for a new MTB in the new year.....

dblock 11-17-07 08:52 AM

the reason i say to go with a nice titanium frame for $600 is that most people here cannot afford to get themselves a custom ti track bike. that's why i say we should do the group buy on a ti bike. we can all afford pista concepts if we saved our money for a few weeks. but a ti frame would cost us a lot of money so i just think it makes more sense to go with really high end stuff in a group buy. the whole point is to make something that is expensive more affordable. how could you not like ti? strong as steel light as air

after all that, mike i vote for Titanium first, Carbon second. worst comes to worst my CF bike will be my velodrome only bike.
