Watch out, a buddy of mine got randomly punched in the face and knocked off his bike last night.. he got a pretty nasty concussion.

It was in Randolph.. he rode by three dudes, and one punched him, he got knocked out. He doesn't remember much. He spent a while in the hospital, and has a moderate concussion...

hey just saw this thread....thinking about fixed gear bikes alot lately, there are so many of them on campus

i have been interested in converting or maybe even just purchasing a brand new bike with fixed gear

any suggestions on places i can go around VCU to do this?

Well your budget will determine what is best for you. As far as a conversion goes... look on craigslist and in thrift stores. It doesnt take too much money to convert an old road frame for fixed fun. If you were going to buy a new bike, I suggest you buy a Kilo, its the cheapest ride while you upgrade bike around. I could be wrong but I dont believe any shops around here sell frames, so the hunting will mostly be online. I recommend bunnyhop for any of your needs otherwise. Theyve always treated me real well there.

BTW does anyone have a 700C front wheel theyd be willing to sell me? (preferably black, but if not thats okay too) Im just gonna bite the bullet and ride my old thrashed frame.

you should all support fun and come race on saturday. the weather is looking way too sunny and nice though. i was hoping for gnarly wintery mix and hell to break loose, but its going to be a walk in the park. but not really. ive been busting ass all week to get this **** going, as has everyone whos helping. im about to go cut spoke cards and make the final arrangements with everyone. peace!!!

spoke cards are completed. all in all, there are 1 two layer screen print, and the other side is a 3 layer piece. straight up a rediculous number of these were made...and a ton of work was put in, a vast majority of the credit is to jess henry, so if you know her, let her know what you think of them. and if you dont, you'll be sure to meet her saturday. im off again to decorate the city a bit

oh and i went to strattons (keirin culture) to check out a kazane frame. im doing everything in my power to get one, seriously a really sick bike. the angles are super agressive, lugs are real nice, paint job is out of control. i would be confident in saying that as far as craftmanship goes, it looks a lot like what i would like to call a more mass-ish produced njs frame. not super custom, but nice, minimalistic, and tough. and the paint job is incredible. deep black sheen with dark red flake. decided to go with the traditional inch threaded. trying to have some lugs betwixt my thighs soon.

That blows my mind that somebody would just run out and deck him. We should start riding around road rash style... btw I cant make the race tonight but I have a few canned goods for donation anyways. Can I leave them with somebody?

thats totally sweet man, you can get them to any of us who are running the race, and we'll see that they are donated.

and the race isnt until saturday afternoon...hopefully that changes things for you

if you could pm me with the route, bonus points, hidden things, where the checkpoints are etc.... that would be great. I feel as if I should get a bit of an advantage since I will be using my sisters unicycle. And if you are letting hot air balloons enter the race I think there should be a checkpoint under water!

You know dang well that it's YOUR unicycle. Remember, you got the decals with your picture and a thought bubble saying "I really like my unicycle. This one, the one I bought for myself." Then you bought a disk wheel for your unicycle and stuck the stickers all over and painted a clown wig in the background.

And as far as the Chex mix goes, I'd contact their quality control because someone obviously fell asleep on the job. And those are the sorts of mistakes that kill. For example; let's say you braced yourself for "the hottest evar!!!!" and wedged yourself in a door frame to maintain balence and ate a handful expecting to be blown away, but instead "almost the hottest evar!!!" the additional strain and stress followed by a lackluster outcome could have made you explode (for real) in real life out of relief.

hot air ballons are allowed but under one stipulation, they have to be black, have skulls or fire on the balloon, and be blasting devildriver the entire race. so yea, you can totally finish in the gnarliest hot air balloon ever.

if anyone is on a unicycle i will set you on fire.

bonus points for anything deemed remotely sweet. also try to get people to come out, we arent going to turn people away if they dont have anything to donate. its all about supporting fun. so im going to go cut these damn spoke cards and drink some beer. if anyone cares to cause some trouble later, im going to do my race celebrating tonight. peace!!!

Sweet, that would be me. I'm fine now minus all of the road rash and a stiff neck still. Fun night, I got to ride in an ambulance and everything plus I got a good reason to get a new saddle since mines now torn to hell.
