Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Welcome to Philadelphia...

Today, all the taxis will try and kill you!

I swear, Victory Cab has it in for me, in a bad way.

scariest busses are those penn charter busses that go up walnut st and let all the ditzy penn girls out right into the bike lane. my screaming voice gets used a lot around there.

I've already been hit by two taxi's since August. My friend Gerard rides a big ass mountain bike and has been hit a lot too. Whenever a taxi hits him, he usually takes his U lock and rides along side of it, making dents across the car.

I also heard that most of them have Michigan drivers licenses. They might have a less strict driving program there or something because any human can get one.

yeah, those route 40 drivers on south st are brutal. One intentionally doored me too, although he missed, i saw his ****-eating-grin in the mirror. I rode in front of him for the rest of his route at about 6mph for about 5 blocks up around to 2nd and lombard. he was blaring on the horn the whole time. tourists on south st were cracking up.

He's lucky you didn't shoot or stab him. If someone intentionally tried to endanger my life like that, he'd be in for quite a rude awakening.

No, ParaTransit is the worst! A persons got to have a minimum of five moving violations to qualify for that job!

philly cabs don't know how to use turn signals. i cant count the number of times i've been riding in the bike lane, approaching an intersection, and a cab in front of me suddenly swings a hard right so i smash into his passenger side rear bumper. i usually just ride bainbridge/lombard to avoid the whole south street mess.

Most of the time, I find them trying to pull u-turns on broad directly into my front wheel. Fortunately, they've been unsuccessful.

Bikes: I HAVE A CAR

i once swerved to avoid a car pulling out of it's spot, and turned back into the lane, pretty far from the oncoming septa, but it slammed on it's breaks and maybe 5 people flipped me off.

septa is gay and so are it's customers
