I'm still not into the outer bearing cranks. They are really stiff but the drag kills it for me. I'm slow enough as it is.

Have you had any issue with the FSA cranks?

If you don't know why you love an S-Works frame you should....do something.

None at all, but the bike is new to me. I debated swapping out my 75s and selling the FSA, but then I read up on them and it sounds like the problem is overstated, so I went ahead and sold the 75s I know that Retem and a few others had problems with them, so I guess it's just wait-and-see.

That said, I'm buying some Dura Ace track cranks from a friend for cheap, and I'm going to stash them away in case of any problems.

Well you could also sell those cranks to me...

They do break in, though. The crank on my road bike spins real smooth now.

PAUL admitted that they made the 44mm chainline out of ignorance and made the cranks to match the 44mm chainline of the hubs.

Honestly though, in a blind-test you wouldn't know the difference.

now that's what gets me. i think for eleventy bazillion dollars or whatever paul costs (;)), you'd want less ignorance and proprietary crap and whatnot. the difference may not be huge, but still, after a certain dollar amount, you begin to expect perfection or as close as someone can get.

I've been wanting to try tubulars for awhile now so I snagged these, a set of Formulas laced to Velocity Deep-Vs. I like the hubs a lot, I thought they would be less awesome than the Miche Primatos that I already have but they are fine. The wheels are a lot lighter. I doubt it is because of the hubs but more likely because they are tubulars. Whatever the reason, it is a noticeable difference. I haven't gone too far on them as I am waiting for some Tufo sealant to arrive, I would hate to get a flat on these things so early on.

I have them pumped up to 160PSI and they are really nice to roll on....super smooth but I should probably get a front brake as I find stopping on them to be a bit harder than with the other wheelset, not sure why.

edit: the seat may seem out of place but the seat-post is some wonky carbon fibre thing that I picked up for cheap on CL and it has some crazy attachment that makes it hard to find a seat that will work on it. I am fiddling around with different seats but so far this Sella Italia el-cheapo saddle is the best fit.
