My latest fixed gear race bike, it's a 1993 Yamaguchi that was custom built for then EDS team Capitan Nick Chenowth.
Still waiting on a reply from Yamaguch concerning the specs on the tubing, but it's fast and has a very aggressive position.

I've only ridden it around the neighborhood a little, but will be taking it to the velodrome later this season.

I think your link is broken. Which wouldn't be that bad, but you just described what I hope is an awesome bike that I'd like to see.

Fix it!

It looks so aerodynamic! Good luck on the veledrome.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, but I'm SO not worthy of that bike. National championships have been won on it, kind of intimidating.
But it's a BLAST to ride!
:D

It's cloth.

And thanks to the guy who said it was sweet, haha.

excellent craftsmanship. there is a such a thing as too stiff though, and think that may be it.

Well, considering that the guy it was built for has 24 inch -ish quads...

That's him in 2004, at the age of 51!
I'm sure it worked well for him.
Thanks for the comments, and yes, it IS beautiful IRL.

rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble :p

edit: to Bicycle Repairman, to call that yamaguchi a "fixie" you deserve to be fishslapped

Bicycle Repairm 02-04-08 11:17 PM

Actually, it's a piece of US cycling history, that I'm honored to be able to own.

Tandem Fixie

Sometimes for fun we convert one of our tandems to a fixie using and ENO hub. Lots of fun on the flats, less so on the hills. Definitely need a front brake since it is tough to coordinate back-pressure with two riders.

No fixie this winter though since we are pulling the kid in a trailer and that is plenty painful already.

Tandem fishtail skids would be the coolest.

With twins riding.

I'd like to see that on a tandem fixed gear tall-bike. Do those even exist or does the outrageous impracticality rule out their construction?

craigdurkee 02-05-08 04:54 AM

ok this is not mine but i snapped it in a shop over the last few days its a 1920's road bike theres also more pics on my flickr they had been restored to just perfect condition
