custom, but not for anyone in particular. i think he made it for himself, and then decided to try something else.
it's got track ends, you just can't see them behind the HUUGE washers to protect the frame. The aluminum dropouts are probably the only drawback I've seen on Spicer's bikes. They do get chewed up pretty easy. He offers steel inserts but I think some people don't take them thinking that they're not necessary. My friends have another one of his "made for no good reaon" bikes. It's a bmx/mtb SS thing where the head tube was dropped down into holes drilled in the top and down tubes so that they extend forward a cm or so. It looks amazingly hardcore. I think it was the first I'd heard of him when I saw it 5 years ago. |

it's nice so far. only one day on it, but it's stiff, and it handles well.

Yesterday I finally got to ride my fixie for the first time since winter started. I've been riding my Karate Monkey all winter. Here are some pictures of both. Right after they were taken I got toe-straps for the Takara.

^Anodized gold Ulock?
|
Clean build on the Takara.
|
what saddle is on the takara?
|
yeah, +1 for the takara. looks great.
|
man i love karate monkeys. nice builds.
|
The u-lock is just a really old steel one that has gold plastic around it to protect it from rust. My dad gave it to me.
The saddle on the Takara is a Specialized Alias that came with my 2005 Allez Comp. Edit: it's the 143 mm width saddle. Thanks for the compliments, I never know what to expect here. |
Check that fade.
It's a Canadian Gardin from the 80's.

What's all over the seatpost of that Gardin? Camo duct tape? I could do without that and maybe those DT shifters also, but that paintjob is great.
