What are you using to resize the image? I know that iPhoto doesn't do it nice. Photoshop will, Gimp, a proper photo editor should do the job.

thanks! i used microsoft's craptastic photo editor, because i have nothing else at the moment. any freeware suggestions? what is gimp?

btw, the cinelli stem looks sweet with the billeted seat post, while the pink phil's are a dashing accent to the black!

Now that is sweet. But I have to ask, what coaster brake is that? It looks like a New Departure brake arm. If it's a Sturmey-Archer SC-1, worship and nurture it. They are one of the hardest brakes to find (here in the states anyway) and super top quality. If it is, and if the brake shoe cylinder is cracked (they do that on those SC-1's) let me know, I have spares.

Take care

Jim

dolface 04-22-05 01:50 PM

it's a suntour, not sure what model though, and i can't check right now 'cause it's down in the bike room, and the girl is out running errands and took the keys.

Dreeeeeeewwwwwwlllll...i'm in a state of ice creamyness :p, digging up a post a few days old... but who cares, gorgeous bike you got there! Don't you need a front brake down there in conjested London?
Anyway...love the barbers pole and typical Mercian paneling, got a close up of the lugs on her?

Merc is just 45min drive from me..if only i had the money. Oneday *gringe* i will have a dream bike too.

la de da.

like i said, im rebuilding this as a (gasp) geared cyclocross bike.

but in the mean time.... i need to be able to ride it while i wait for a few parts to come in. AAAAAAND i had lent out my every day riding wheel two days ago because i didnt think i'd have an issue building my pinarello back up.

but.. as it turns out, i suck... so i threw the hed disc on for (as stupid as it sounds) travelling purposes, while i wait for my other wheel to return. (should be another day or two).

but i thought it looked pretty ******** kickass the way it is.

55x18... and yes, it goes fast. (there is a 44t inner ring.... see also: i suck).

Damn, that disc must look hardcore-hip in the streets.

chrisgerne 04-23-05 04:27 AM

meh.. i've avoided riding it during the day in efforts to escape looking like a jackass.

jacobs 04-23-05 06:14 AM

having only front canti's freaks me out a bit.

you = over the bars.

My, that's a fine-looking bike. The only thing that bugs me is the reynolds sticker. It keeps telling me it'd rather be down by the seat tube/downtube junction.

bostontrevor 04-24-05 06:29 PM

Bah, that's a 753/853 thing. 531/631 says up top, please!

I love the photos, it loooks like you've got two and what a pleasure that would be. :)

Lies! My soma's got the 631 sticker on the downtube. (Then again, it's got gears.)

I am silently crying right now, all this beauty in a bike.
