You know, there's really no way that post isn't well past the insertion point, but I guess it's more important to have an all NJS bike (oh, except for the risers, of course) than anything else, even if that means eventually trashing a beautiful hand-made frame.

Seriously I just like to go fast and pull hard on the drops :( I can rack in plenty of laps on the track and feel fine, just gotta adjust the hand positioning a little every once in awhile, so I don't think it's causing too much trouble.

People also need to learn that many people vary in terms of flexibility, core strength, and what kind of position they can maintain for awhile. I'd wager a bet that those keirin guys are pretty damn flexible (a lot moreso than the average street riding NJS fetishist) on top of being strong...

i tend to avoid fit criticism based solely on a picture of the bike (cause that would be bone stupid), because yeah, people vary. but looking at trends is a different matter. you probably know by looking at bikes used in keirin races that there's a very different fit standard applied to those racers, and to american street riders.

one of the first things i learned about body positioning on the track was that being too low seriously sucked. it didn't make me appreciably more aero - instead, it robbed me of comfort and more importantly, robbed me of power.

Yes, and I've seen your bike, and you're not in danger of indexing your frame from over-extending your seatpost.

I had to go with a positive rise stem when I switched to deep track drops. It's not very sexy, but it puts me in the perfect sprint position.

that yamaguchi is my brothers, he was gonna put the jaguar on it...i was all "uhh, what the hell are you doing?" he said, "i don't have any bars for my cinelli road stem so this is what i gotta use until those bars come in" i says hold on, i give you criterium bars and cinelli track stem* to use instead. they look pretty badass on that bike. on my bike...they make bar drop too much.

*cinelli track stem is much more modest drop...but his bike would still fit ok with the jaguar. i think they look kinda dumb though.

i love criterium bars so damn much.

I would have to say that bike is one of my favorite custom builds i've seen!
Every thing is just perfect, adding or subtracting anything would only detract from it, and the double downtube , I find that very interesting and a nice little surprise when looking at it. I think i looked at the BB picture 3-4 times last night before i even realized that I wasn't looking at the stay's for the drop outs.
The colors are great too! I really hope your daughter enjoys her sweet new ride.
