'78 Raleigh Competition GS frameset - full Reynolds 531 main tubing and forks with Campagnolo dropouts. Handlebars (flop and chop), stem, headset, and bottom bracket are all original stock. Suntour Superbe Pro Track crankset and EAI cog round out the drivetrain. Stole the Brooks B17 from my old trusty steed.

Wow. Beautiful. Good job on not effing up a nice old bike like some others here do. The silver V's really set it off nicely.

I thought the rule was "fist full of seat post".
Not true?
It doesn't look that low to me, but most of mine are about that high.

Ray_B 07-19-08 01:21 PM

Hey RoadyForLife, what's that frame? Looks pretty good.

Wow. what's that paint?

BoozyMcliverRot 07-19-08 02:05 PM

Its a flat black base coat with Duplicolors Crystal Effex clear coat. I also put that clear coat over Duplicolors Grabber green engine paint on my specialized.

The darker the base coat is the better the glimmer efect works.

Now, I am fully aware of just how disgusting having the chain on the inner gear looks, but money is tight and I can't afford to replace it as soon as I would like. Tires were free, friend from nj picked them out of some free pile at the shop he works at and mailed me them with some tubes. He sent 2 of the tire shown in the front, but I decided to run the blue one in the rear for a little. Other minor adjustments need to be made as well, such as seat height..

EH, taking off the brakes, brake levers, derailleurs, and swapping in some new wheels, made it that much worse? haha..the blue rear tire is pretty hideous if may say so myself.. I just wanted to try it out, but my other continental 4000 may be making its way to the rear wheel quicker than I thought.

if im not mistaken, saddle height should be adjusted based on how it feels to ride it, rather than the amount of seat post that is visible.
