Green Machine FTW. I rode mine until the plastic wheels disintegrated.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3196/...980dab4f_b.jpgI just picked up this Novara Strada for $free.99 from my neighbor who didn't want it.
I don't think it's been ridden more than 20 miles. It'll make a decent conversion. Sugino GT cranks Sakae Road Champion bars |
Don't convert that! Thats beautiful and in amazing shape, sell it to someone who'll appreciate it as is and then buy a crap bike to convert for the money you make. or keep it and enjoy the gears until you can afford a fixed.

I guess I could keep it stock and ride it. I'm just in the habit of looking for cheap bikes to fix up....and this one was cheap. Oh yeah...Big Wheel FTW. |
I'd fix it up but not "fix it." You can make plenty on it just maybe not as easy as selling a "sweet fixie (cringes and rolls eyes)" on CL in about 2 days to a 19 Year old kid just itching shave the derailers, rattle can it, and slap on some deep V's and a TT pad. :)

You'll kill all the bike's character by converting it. You know those nasty super slack wheel-base, janky conversions with Weinnman Deep V's that cost more than the rest of the bike? That's the danger territory you'd be treading... hands off!
I spent $400 on my last conversion, but it's a very nice hand built lugged frame. I guess any money on this would be lipstick on a pig. I just wish it was a different color.... |
