sashae-framebank ;) The Vivalo is drilled, but I got it by request. Friend of mine's girlfriend needed a small frame that she can run a front brake on, and this fit perfectly.

I do have to say that Vivalos are 1000x better looking in person than they are in pictures. This is the first one I've seen up close, and it's really, really gorgeous. Extremely nice finish.

I love this thing. I have not killed my self yet so that is good as well. I am rideing it to work tomarrow so I will see.
Eric.... Schnayke for short.

hell yeah. looks fun.

adamkell 02-23-06 09:50 AM

damn sashae, nice wheelset.

Rodador 02-23-06 10:28 AM

Sashae! Fillet-brazed Peloton? That is pretty slick.

sashae 02-23-06 10:33 AM

Yeah, it's really cool... check out the angles on the frame too. Really, really short chainstays, long top tube. Crazy sprint machine -- makes the angles on shants' Makino look like a touring bike ;) This is the first filleted Peloton I've seen, and it's pretty neat. I'm going to take some better pictures tonight when I have time -- the radii on the fillets is really smooth. Pretty neat frame.

shants 02-23-06 10:43 AM

what are the actual angles? mine looks to be about that steep or steeper without wheels on it.

sashae 02-23-06 11:11 AM

I'm going to measure it tonight, I'm pretty curious to see what it actually measures out as. The stays in particular are visibly shorter than those on the Vivalo, by almost an inch. The wheel is going to tuck like hell, i imagine.

shants 02-23-06 11:14 AM

awesome - i'm stoked to hear about it.

that (yellow?) rensho that dolface has is super ****ing steep.
dolface, did you ever measure those angles?

evanyc 02-23-06 11:45 AM

does he still have that or did he get rid of it? that bike was intense

shants 02-23-06 12:38 PM

hmm, good question.

I saw it the other day when I was at his place. Doesn't look like it would be any fun to ride for more than ten minutes. It actually turned me off of 3renshos, the geometry is just so ridiculous...

You've made it very sad, Judah.

i've never liked 3renshos, but, like any other custom shop, they're not all like that. my makino is ****ing gruesome to ride, but i've seen some that are pretty standard track geometry, etc.

my 2005 Fuji Track 56cm.
the wheels are temporary until yojimbo's gets some more front hubs in stock. I'll be switching the cranks then too.

Nice Spud! So no more hybrid?
Was that photo taken on Planet Krypton?

It's a '91 Yokota Yosemite with 1 1/8 threadless.

Today my track ends came in from UBI...

Ordered them Saturday, came in today. Nice.

So this is part one I guess. It goes to my buddies place this Sat to get cleaned up and the ends fitted. I'll edit and update when that happens.

BF meet Nigel, the rockingest beater around. Just finished it up this afternoon for the ladyfriend (for all intents and purposes) with the purchase of a clamp to hold the coaster brake to the chainstay. Formerly the worlds worst maintained 3 speed english racer from god knows when. Now the world's semi-worst maintained coaster ss. It's a blast to ride and is completely mismatched. 28" rear wheel (thanks Amsterdam), 26" front. Got the tires in different sizes to compensate. I have no clue about the frame or Elswick bikes but everythings just about rusted together and the chain looks like it's about a foot wide with grease and crap but who cares it gets her to school and back and stops and goes just fine.

There is damned little in this world more fun than stripping an old crappy bike of unnecessary parts.
