just to give a little perspective, the gearing is 47x16, and the cranks are 165mm (axles are hollow too)

Very nice! What can you tell us about the 10mm pitch drive? How long were they in production, did only Shimano make it, BCD, NJS certified etc.?

hmm, i don't know a whole lot about it, but i think it was made from the mid 70's until the early 80's. shimano was the only one that made it, and pretty much everything about it is proprietary, from thread pitch, to bcd (around 122).

the early stuff was not njs, but it's my understanding that they got certification a year or two before they pulled the plug on the whole thing.

there's a 10 pitch poster floating around somewhere that shows road compenents too, but i don't think they ever went into production.

Thanks for the info. Parts like that really make a classic bike more interesting.

Hey everyone, this is my Norco Havoc, but with a few upgrades...it turned out quite mean.

Do you ride/huck in the city? I like that bike. I thought about a Kona SS...

Shadow_Ryder 01-03-06 10:03 PM

I actually do dirt jumping, the crappy forks are to soft for any kind of drop, they bottom out off somtihng about 60cm's high, But ive got soem spare forks i just got recently which i havnt yet put on the bike. (Acutally i used to have pegs on that bike, i could pull some killer manuals and grinds on it, as well as hopping on the back wheel like a maniac, i should put them back on one day.)

Of all the pix I took, I had to post this one. I got in trouble with the misses for putting my wool pancho on the couch, then putting the bike on the couch.

Unknown year Miyata road bike conversion. The top tube reads "One Twelve" if that matters. It had 27" wheels when I got it. Currently running 52*16 SS right now. Waiting for my lockring/cog/chainring to get in to go fixed. Once that stuff is in 48*17.
Nitto bullhorns, and specialized in line brakes levers. Rear is from Quality, Surly flip/flop hub with a Mavic Open Pro. The front wheel is a Cheap-o that has been hanging at the LBS forever...Araya rim(get back on exactly which one). Specialized all condition dillos 700*25. The seat is an old Schwinn Stinger bmx seat.

IMHO I absolutely disagree. I'm running a DC Shiver on my Instigator and wouldn't have it any other way. eh.. anyway...

atomsuite 01-04-06 04:11 PM

Atomsuite,

saw that this morning. Amazing shot. Do you like the Bareknuckle so far? I've been pondering ordering one. Seeing that pic sort of woke up the desire to get one.
