Nice! Came out well! I am so down with that stem/bar combo.

edit: nice to see you ended up with the black spokes silver nipples. I can't believe you got all that done in one day. Crazy! What did you do about that wierd fork width?

juvi-kyle 04-17-06 09:55 PM

but that chain looks wicked tight. maybe back off on the tension a bit for the sake of your bearings.

That is a myth. As you pedal, even with a slack chain, you're still applying torque to the bearing. Having it be more taught doesn't really change anything.

ImOnCrank 04-18-06 03:24 AM

That makes me absurdly happy. You go teach.

Ok, I did the flat black base, and told them what to wrench and how to do it. And I had to help most of them hold the wrench.

But they did do the colors and most of the wrenching. And the bike was built entirely in my classroom.

Took this pic yesterday on a ride in SF. First nice non-rainy day in weeks.

Too much tension is still an issue:

it's funny: i didn't realize this was what i wanted from this bike, until i was at the LBS yesterday and saw those bars and grips. with only a couple of minor adjustments, i'm more or less done with this bike.
