Jax Chemicals. copper platting using acid instead of electricity. much easier and cheaper. only works on steel (of course).

I shot some updated photos of my bike tonight. New bars courtesy of user Jamey (your set is in the mail), new stem courtesy of ebay, and a new brake lever because my tektro didn't fit the new bars. Now I have an extra Dia Compe and a Tektro bar end lever if anyone needs a new black bar end lever.

Now I just want to get rid of the IRO logos. No offense Tony.

That is f'ing sick!

The iro frame? Uhh, those are pretty popular.

And if you saw mine in fixed mag I want my royalty check. Oh, and a vintage italian lugged steel frame while they are at it...you know, for the unauthorized use and all.

The large blinky light mounted to the rear of the seatpost? That usually helps to be seen. ;)

Also, though I hadn't taken them off of the Bianchi yet, I have two cateye opticube lights that I mount on the flats of the drops facing forward. It works really well - cars really get the picture with two front blinkies. They're black, too - the last two that my LBS had. They were saying they're not manufactured anymore :D

I'd think a frame that wasn't black would do the job much more reliably. Not to mention the bracket that holds on my blinking light ****ing broke so now I'm in the dark, literally.

If you're depending on the frame color to save you from a car. . . it's a bit too late at that point.

HereNT 06-01-05 09:51 PM

I depend on frame color to save me from a lot of things. Washing the bike, for one.

tink20seven 06-01-05 10:07 PM

hey kennethalan

what bars are those.
i LOVE the side shot
looks hella beez

kennethalan 06-01-05 10:13 PM

They are a profile bar. I don't know the exact amount of drop on them though. Sorry. I just traded my profile stokers that had no drop for these. So when they showed up I just put them on. I didn't do any shopping around for them. Sorry for the lack of information. I know syntace and profile make a bar that both look just like these.

bars are looking good man! doing trades like this is what makes the fixed gear community stand out to me. it also makes me realize that it's no coincedence that it goes hand in hand with punk.

My $5 garage sale find. Add $25 for the Maillard track wheel, $10 for the Vittoria tubular, $40 for the DA bits plus ring nuts and the obligatory Regal. First hour on a fix and it was actually fun, probably due to the 42x18. My pic looks hack, sorry.
