Might want to rethink those H+Sons. I hear some bad reviews about them. Sturdy and pretty though

bad reviews in terms of what? ive hand weighed them, and they def. are a tad bit heavier than deep v's and other 'beatable' rims - im definitely concerned with sturdy - and yeah, they're pretty

what downsides should i be aware of?

Besides the rims weighing ~580 grams, I don't think there are any. If you're into the whole brakeless thing they offer rims that are tapered for more aero effect.

Here's a link to a post on weight weenies. There's some picks and a review of biuld/rim quality.

there's nothing wrong with them at all. tzusing builds his rims just fine.

What kind of tugs have you got on that Centurium?

You're right, my brother was the one who installed it, I was at work when it came in. Anyway switching it out now, thanks for the heads up.

Ive read one bad review on the h plus, the poster was saying they felt really flimsy.

Nice! There is nothing as inspiring as taking a high-end racing frame, putting on a $750 racing wheel in the front, and then setting the rear up with a 60 tpi tire. Beautiful.

a wider bottom bracket will help with that.
also, did you sand or file the end of the cranks arm? campy crank arms don't look rounded like that originally.

I forgot to say "Your bike is really nice". What city are you in? What size is that bike?

My chain line is perfect right now so I don't feel like messing with a new spindle. And it does clear, just barely.

Cranks are Stronglights with a campy ring.

cameradork 11-07-08 05:47 PM

How wide is your BB? I had some issues with my chain sitting way close to the stays. Went to a Sugino 75 (109) and it helped somewhat, but damn the clearances can be tight on the Cannondale.

bigbris1 11-07-08 06:05 PM

Elkhide came today & O...M...G...! It is so luxurious & soft! I was on the gate on leather wrap, but if your bike is done & you want those last finishing touches, velo-orange is THE place to visit. Better pics to come with daylight:

I know i know :D

Had a brake on with bullhorns but the lever was too long to work with riser bars, so I took it off. I am waiting for my clips and new brake lever to arrive. Until then i use my brute strength to stop. :D
