i was saying it as a last resort if changing out the bb wouldn't work

chadbrochill17 02-08-09 07:25 PM

That should never be an option. Jesus

Oh I can ride the bike just not with those cranks. The older Sugino Mighty Competition cranks for fine with it though. I wouldn't dare think about dremeling a part that carries my weight (I'm 190lbs). The material is there for a reason.

I emailed the builder so I'll see what he says about it. Rides amazing though

It's been a good bike so far...especially for one found in the woods. Going to get a new crankset and a nicer set of pedals/clips/straps in the near future, but no other major changes.

Yep.

Part of me kinda wants to get a nice saddle to put on, but another part of me thinks that the stock piece is just too sexy.

dayvan cowboy 02-09-09 12:32 PM

i've heard the stock masi saddle is uncomfortable, but then again everyone's ass is different.

I really like those masi's. they have one at my LBS that i want to test ride but it's too big.

For some reason, this picture reminds me of "No Country for Old Men", which makes me like the bike more than i usually like conversions. :thumb:

Yeah, it's not the most wonderful thing with regards to comfort, but with a little fine tuning of the saddle adjustment and your riding position it's bearable. I also don't own any cycling shorts, so I haven't seen yet whether that helps things out.

I'd be interested in checking out some more saddles just to see what feels good and how much room for improvement there is in the way of comfort, but I think the stock one just looks so perfect that I don't think I'll replace it unless I find something that feels so much better that I absolutely must have it.
