The simple answer? No one else makes deep rims in this combination of price range and easy availability. I don't see anything anal about wanting a bike you spent a lot of time, thought and money on to look nice. Unless you're going retro or NJS, the Deep Vs are one of the best ways to do this.

I agree. Deep V's look sweet if you're buiding up a nice frame. And they got some crazy colors. I'd do it.

I don't think it needs I white rear-rim though. With the red fork, the black rim with the red tire in the back of sets the front nicely. I'm sure it will look equally hot with white rim in back, I just like the look of this also. |
