duh, we want heavy bikes, plus we are anal about color matching.

B17 08-29-05 04:40 PM

The simple answer? No one else makes deep rims in this combination of price range and easy availability. I don't see anything anal about wanting a bike you spent a lot of time, thought and money on to look nice. Unless you're going retro or NJS, the Deep Vs are one of the best ways to do this.

Plinkerton 08-29-05 04:56 PM

I agree. Deep V's look sweet if you're buiding up a nice frame. And they got some crazy colors. I'd do it.

You just wait until I finish patenting my "mood ring" style top-tube protector.

Black and Gold is ALWAYS the way to go.

gotta say it's a nice highlight to the black!

I don't think it needs I white rear-rim though. With the red fork, the black rim with the red tire in the back of sets the front nicely. I'm sure it will look equally hot with white rim in back, I just like the look of this also.

thanks man. only thing is... i pillaged the wheel off the single speed i built my girl! ... making her ride her road bike with gears! aah!

Thing is a blast to ride, thanks to everyone who posts pics here for the inspiration. I don't think I'm every buying a prebuilt bike again.

I like it. Nicely done.

Damn, that is a fine looking bike! I would love a Panasonic and I have never seen one in that colour, awesome! I have that same Shimano wheel as a rear on my geared Ciocc and it is great.....a little heavy but I like it's stiffness. I found it in a dumpster ;)

That just happens to be my exact size, let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.
I'll be in NY this October.

Yeah most likely, my girl lives right at that corner.

The tough part was finding a paint distributor who could color match from my tires.

spike lateen 09-02-05 04:20 PM

But can it ride fast?

12XU 09-02-05 07:31 PM

That second one is insane. Are those Sugino Grand Mighty cranks?

Negative. They both sport campy track cranks, but in the case of "Debbie", those're the old skool gold ones. The gold's all but gone on the drive side and pretty hurtin' on the nondrive, but they're still solid cranks.
