read the quote in your post..never ridden and a photo op.
s/f, ceya! |
cool sannino!

Why would you have your seat angled that way for a photo op? You had tools becaue you changed the wheelset around. Why not fix the seat angle while you were at it?
Other then that i love the bike. |

Crazy spoke lacing also. Is that strong? I would say those handlebars would probably still hit the frame because of the angle of the headtube, if not the lever still would hit . And if I had that frame, I probably would not be takin any chances. Only 100 were made in 2005 and that was their last run at Columbus MAX MXL tubing, so to my knowledge no more indestructible MX leaders are goin to be made. Put the gears back on it. |

Other then that i love the bike. how would you liked the seat angle to be? it was leveled off. other than the seat post being lowered there is nothing to do with the seat. please explain more. S/F, CEYA! |

seriously...its pretty and all...but who has one of those frames just lying around to mess with? |
It just hurts to see those useless ugly platform pedals on a Merckx. People who put those on don't deserve to use the frame:(

Alright here's my now much improved Pogliaghi that I posted a few weeks back (see pg159). Current (I don't dare say final) product is Pogliaghi Frame from the 80's sometime, low flange 28s Phil fix/fix hubs on deep-v's, Rubinos, Galli Cranks, Sugino M-type ring, soma 17t/DA 16t cogs, Thompson elite seatpost, Selle NitroX saddle, Campy Headset/bb, Nitto b123s, Spot tensioner, MKS sylvans pedals and MKS clips.
Thing is a blast to ride, thanks to everyone who posts pics here for the inspiration. I don't think I'm every buying a prebuilt bike again. |
That's some sick color coding. I hope you ride the hell out of that thing.

SF Giant steeze - nice!
|
sweet ride ImOnCrank... the white tires are the icing on the cake.. are those Vittorias?
|
The first pic is of the 1979 Colnago Sport that I bought off of Craigslist and the next two are the fixed conversion that I made out of it. The rims are gold Deep-Vs laced to Miche Primato Pista track hubs with 28 holes. I stripped and powdercoated the frame black. The crank is the Gipieme Sprint which was on the original bike as was the 42t cog. The rear is a 16t dura ace cog. No brakes and I have some old Shimano SPD pedals that will go on once I find some shoes that I like. Riding fixed in Toronto is a bit intimidating at first but I like the control that I have. I will probably go to 52t once I am used to things, give it about a month. I hope you guys think I did a good job, I am pretty proud of how it turned out.

Love the dubs. What are those, like 45's?. :p
|
Thanks schloe yeah they are vittorias. As for the galli's they came with the frame when I bought it. They seem to work fine with the campy bb which is odd.

With the red fork, the black rim with the red tire in the back of sets the front nicely. I'm sure it will look equally hot with white rim in back, I just like the look of this also. |
WOW 2005 is the year of the DEEP V. i just dont get it
