Which is exactly what I meant when I said "bump the fork out." I didn't think that they just bent the fork further forward and thought that would help with barspinzzz.

fuking merciers

merciers are pretty cool for what they are, but having experienced two of my friends getting them, i have to say they come with the absolute *****tiest pedals, cranks that are flexier than fuk, the lamest bars i've seen in a while (cheap a$s road drop with a hilarious movable yet not removable shim and tacky tape which is near impossible to remove), a hideous stem, worst tires ever with ****ty rims that aren't track specific in the least, and to top it off, a pretty ugly piece of ***** stuck on the 10 dollar seatpost. so yeah, sorry to sound so negative, but just guy the fuking spicer frameset or wait for the pro, which will cost as much as the complete (or comprable) and eliminate the embarrassement of dealing with some of the tackiest stock componentry to be offered on a dirt cheep "entry level track" frame

A valid point but it didn't need to be said twice

For someone who isnt going to notice the crank flex, doesnt ride specifically on a track, doesnt care about what type of drops they have and who doesnt routinely spend bank on a saddle its a pretty good deal. The intended purchaser isnt someone who regularly races on a track or is seriously into fixed gear riding, the intended purchaser is someone who wants to try it out or wants a bike on the cheap that can be later upgraded.

Welp, I know you are right but you can ride around on it for two years and still get your money back (perhaps even make a profit), so I guess that we each have something to learn: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=009

Thanks! It's an early 90's Nishiki Competition frame made out of Tange steel.
It might look better without brakes i guess but buying brake pads is waaay cheaper than tyres. Plus with a 46-15 ratio, i can't stop this thing quick enough wthout them.

I think it looks great just like it is. good job

Here is a pic of my bike as it looks now.
Picture quality is poor due to it coming from my camera-phone...

man conversions really look good when they're understated

Cool, i appreciate the approvals here.
Not that i needed them to validate anything, they are just nice to hear anyway.

Changes for the better. Back to tubulars and drops with a saddle that fits my butt better:

supply and demand. Since they aren't out yet folks need to get on it. I was so pissed, the "black widow" frame was sold with everything exept the wheels for $100. I see it turn up a few weeks later with wheels and it sold for $600 on ebay. I felt like a dummy for not trying :(

jet sanchEz 03-21-08 05:11 PM

The Kilo TTs are back in stock but yeah, I hate giving people a good deal just to see it pop up back on CL a couple of weeks later for a significantly higher amount than I sold it for. It only happened to me once but never again....

Those bars are just old cruiser / northroads type that have been flipped as folks would have done some 60 plus years ago.
