Brandune did you happen to get that anodized seat post for cheap somewhere or did you pay the $150 dollars that i've been seeing online.

Its a nice photo with perfect composition. I think everyone should try to take nice photos of their bikes like this.

i would attempt to take a nice, understatment, but i would have a problem with making my bike stand up. :P

don't see a bottle, or can in the pic...is it magic?

Strong. Most bikes that have bullhorns should have those, I opine.

How is the Dingle Cog (hihihi) working out with just one chainring? Do you switch gears often?

just fine. when i run the knobbies i run a lighter gear. with the slicks a few teeth less.
the shop that helped me build it threw it on there to try out. i've thought about putting another ring upfront... i also have a pile of cogs here that i could swap out.... just never get around to it.

Make sure to give it a healthy greasing after the wash. Otherwise you're just cleaning off the surface so that salt has an easier time eating into the metal.

Gear ratios are all preferential, but it's stupidly ******** to run a gear that large in Cincinnati. Also, clean your chain off before you put the bike way. Geez.

You should move your rocking chair so you can get a better view of those damn neighborhood kids - then you get a good fist shaking in.

lol!

good one.

But the gear is crazy....

WhiteCarbonDude 03-20-08 03:28 PM

Don't be hatin' because it's a Peugeot. Not done yet but alls I need is a gold chain and some cool gold bar wrap.

Anyone know who makes that polished gold bar wrap?

i guess. it seems to work pretty well for me. 42x16 was too low and i ended up spinning out going down some of the bigger hills. i can still climb fine, just not as fast.

all is granted about the chain rustyness, though.

Have you looked at the gear ratio this guy is running? It looks like 48X13 to my eye, maybe more. This forum is for providing advice, quit hating...

dude, no hating. that is probably going to be one of the sweetest peugeot conversions ever.

its 52x16. i know you're just trying to give me some advice, but honestly, i don't really need advice with my gearing. the way i have it set up is about as perfect as i can get it right now (for my preference). its fine going uphill, better going downhill, and awesome in the flats. also, by using the 52t chainring, my chainline is perfectly straight.

humancongereel 03-20-08 04:18 PM

maybe it's fine, but 42t to 52t is a big jump and there's probably some compromise between the two that'll give you a happy medium between climbing and descending.
