Wow I thought A Singespeed was a mountain bike with only one gear like a bmx bike.

My 1980 Schwinn Traveler.
Found the frame on the street a couple years ago. The front wheel wouldn't move, and almost all of the components were rusted. I decided to strip it this summer, and have been riding it every day since. Schwinn Traveler 58cm Formula hubs laced to Mavix Cxp22 Shimano road crankset Nitto B123 bars with comfy oury grips on top and champ grips on the bottom. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...h/IMG_0399.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...h/IMG_0400.jpg yeah dude. |

when this bike was posted for the first time on FGG in 2004 i freaked. now i'm spoiled by all the other full NJS keirin stuff i see here. but this was the first one that got me stoked. I think that was Potus bike posted there. S/F< CEYA! |
So check it out -
Here is my woman's ride - she was going to post it herself, but bikeforums has disabled new registrations. 1993 Waterford Premiere Lugged Track Frame, Suntour Superbe Pro Cranks / BB, Sunshine Professional Hubs laced by myself to Pink Velocity Aerohead Rims, and of course Pink Handlebar tape. http://junipero.3sheep.com/~chris/bi...terford_sm.jpg http://junipero.3sheep.com/~chris/bi...d_gears_sm.jpg |

Ok, here she is. After waiting almost 4 months, my custom Bob Jackson track frame. Apologies for the poor photos - I promise I will get better ones as soon as I have time. Honestly, these do not do it justice!
Frame - Custom BJ Threadless, straight bladed 11/8" forks Reynolds 631 oversize main tubes with 725 oversize rear triangle Wishbone seat stays Mixture of fillet brazed and lugged joints Parts - FSA Orbit XLII headset Cheap ITM stem (to be replaced with a Salsa SUL when they start making them again!) Nitto B127 bars Goldtec/Mavic CXP33 wheels Conti GP3000 tyres (to be replaced with black tyres when these are worn out) Shimano 600 cranks with TA Alize track chainring Shimano M540 pedals Campy Chorus seatpost Selle Italia SLR saddle An eclectic mix of parts but it works and I like it. I built her up on Thursday and have been riding all weekend. She rides impeccably and handles beautifully. I am chuffed to bits! |

Yesterday my friend and I finished my four month love affair, otherwise known as my first keirin/custom build. I was fed up yesterday and went out, with my wife's permission, and threw the last bit of money I needed at Freewheel to get the parts, chain, chainring, ockring and cog. We finished it, and I took it out for the bike's inaugural thrashing. Awesome. Its amazing how quiet and how smooth, a completely new/good quality build rides. Presto 57cm Keirin Frame(njs) Hatta Swan Headset(njs) Nitto stem and drops(njs) Sugino 75 BB(njs) and Sugino 75 Crankset(njs) Royal Nuevo Pedals, cages and Toshi doubles(all njs) Pro-Max hubs, Polished Fushion rims. Sram nickel chain, Surly Cog and Salsa front Chainring. So cool! http://www.betterlookingthanyou.com/jonb/presto.JPG http://www.betterlookingthanyou.com/jonb/skid.JPG |

sweet bike
whats the thing on on the seat stay bridge? and what the hell are you doing in the second picture, sitting on the handlebars? |
Lovely build. That bike is just sex. But, why not do an NJS drivetrain as well? DA cog/lockring is not an expensive set up. I mean, you might as well.

really really nice jonb
|
its a light, and its a 1 leg over the bar skid.
as for all njs, i knew the wheels i wanted would be nowhere near full njs or even semi njs so the same went for the drive train, i bought stuff i wanted/liked. this was about building the bike i desired, not building a 100% njs bike :) thanks for the nice words though :) |

on a recent trip to tokyo i came across this bike a couple of times.
I was only there for 2 days and this was the only fixed gear bike i saw. Check out the locking method. most bikes on the street in tokyo are locked this way or not at all. |
this one belongs to one of the guys at Courier office in Shibuya
hot bike, peep the bar tape http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a30...23/3rensho.jpg |
Oh damn, I see my Kiyo's twin! Too bad that blue crap is blocking the view.

What's that thing on the front of the blue bike's fork?
It's a DAMN SHAME is what it is! |
