Damn, The bike's lookin good dubteka. Funny thing is, I thought I saw you last night as I was driving up Geary around 7:45, your pictures pretty much confirm it. We should get another SF group ride happening sometime soon.

This is my Mark V. All stock except for the Selle Italia Turbo Flite saddle, deep drop Syntace bars, and Cane Creek 200TT brake lever. What!

I love the Panasonic, but probably partly because I have an '87 DX-4000 roadie.

The lead sled weighs in at a relatively heavy 24 lbs and sports an awesome 6-speed SIS 12-23 cluster which is not, I repeat, not a great setup for an 80 mile mountain climbing run.

HELL yeah! you gonna get some mack hubs for that?

(you gonna keep the brooks on it? hate to say it, but it looks a little jarring next to all the rest of that hi-tech stuff)

how's it ride?

and congrats! you must be stoked, been a long time coming.

el twe 01-07-06 08:20 PM

That is a super-sex bike there, ostro. I'm jealous. And Mack hubs would be a very nice touch. I like the Brooks, just a little far forward (aesthetically speaking).

onetwentyeight 01-07-06 08:39 PM

That thing is bad ass. We should start a white colored bike gang.

What happened to the anti-brakeless ostro I remember?

ostro 01-07-06 09:21 PM

I am still getting the cash together for the wheels. i have to add some wheels, hubs, abd spokes, that add to the bike; that is the next step.

As for the saddle, i think its gonna stay, its about comfort on that part, i have about 900miles on that saddle and its just at the breaking point. Also, that is the first morning i jumped on the bike, havent had the chance to dial everything in yet in the pics.

The ride feels good, i really dig the stiffness of the aluminium. Im looking forward to getting used to it, my pinarello feels so much more natural to me since that is all have been riding.

no drilled fork on this bike, however, this does not change my belief that a front brake is crucial. My style of riding on this bike changed quite dramaticaly. With a front brake i can jam down any hill or through a sketchy situation with more confidence that my bike will stop in an extremly short distance.

I hate white bikes. I love your bike, Ostro. Good work.
