just so you know, that's an '05 or '06 pista. probably '05. the '04 didn't have the champ colors.

Oh man, thanks. Yeah i bought the frame off ebay and it was listed under 04, sooo...

good looking out, homie. :D

chzman 02-28-06 01:24 PM

i dont think 'homie' is acceptable jargon 'round these parts

KirbyxKamikaze 02-28-06 01:37 PM

maybe,

perhaps,

that is why it would be funny...

Competing for the worst mobile-camera-pic. Just got my baby home from a few days at the bikeshop. I'll probably take real show off pictures with my Pentax 67 later on but until then this will do.

Bridgestone NJS frame
Nitto bars and stem
Sugino 75 w/ Salsa 47 chainring
Red Turbo saddle
Formula hubs + Mavic Ma3 rims + Conti GP3000.

Pretty basic but it does the job. This one beats my converted ten times over!

nice bike, evanyc! i really dig that color scheme. Mine's got it two-toned in, sort of - looks all blue from the front, yellow from behind, oddish green from the side. Perhaps someday i'll buy some flash tires for it. similar to your build 'cept with econ IRO wheelset for the time being and *gasp* ye olde Time mtb pedals... can't seem to break that habit.

[edit] yeesh, tough act to follow! anyway...

put my "summer wheelset" on yesterday and finally snapped some pics:

http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/1004/green24sl.png

i think the frame is an early 90s schwinn traveler, 4130 cr-mo, pretty light actually
i just noticed it today for the first time in the sunlight, but the gray paint has green flakes in it. rad.

i have a paul/ma3 front, surly/ma3 fix-fix rear, dura ace locking, soma cog, nitto drops, sugino cranks, vittoria tires. currently running 42x14

might as well post a shot of the "beater" too. 52x16 singlespeed freewheel, everything is generic save the syntace bars and specialized saddle, but check out those high flange hubs!

Is that one of those noise making things that slides up and down on the spokes?

That takes me way back.

muftek 02-28-06 03:08 PM

hah, it doesnt make noise unless you go really slow, then it clicks and clacks at the top and bottom of the slide. me and my friend were in class and when we came out, mine had the green one, and his had a blue one since his bartape and saddle are blue. awesome!

what's the seat tube angle on that?

between 75-76degrees, most closely 75degrees. protractors are fun.

Good one - very close, but you gotta figure in some perspective ;) its a hair more than 76 in person. bike's about a 54.5... fits my torsoe/height alright but i've got these ridiculous-length legs, so my seats end up in weird spots, if that's what prompted the question?

no. it just looked steeper than 75 (which it is).

i never trust a protractor with photos. foreshortening is generally deceptive.
